I don't think you can hold Jack Black responsible for his buddy's comments, everyone should be responsible for their own actions. That being said, when you reveal your political leanings you run the risk of alienating half of your potential fans. In addition,if someone you're close to makes an inappropriate political statement like this, you can very easily be dragged into it...which is what happened.
