Tench Fishing - Time For Tench Part One
For this latest episode we head to Bawburgh fishery, a fishery renowned for it's specimen carp, bream and tench and one which we have joined for 2016. For many years now it has thrown up some incredible catches of both carp and bream, but it was the huge tench that really took our fancy.
For our first session on the water we didn't want to throw ourselves right in at the deep end so opted to fish one of the smaller lakes, with the aim of hopefully easing our way into a proper tench campaign and hopefully putting a few smaller fish under our belt.
An early start saw us on the banks around 4.00am in the morning, but before we set-up and got fishing we were lucky enough to witness a truly incredible sight, and something that this year we'll be trying to replicate.
To find out what we are talking about and to find our how we got on in our session, watch this latest installment, from the waters edge.
As usual we hope you enjoy it and any feedback is always much appreciated.

Great video. My favourite trench venue has recently re opened after having a problem with the roach. Now looking forward to a couple of early morning trench sessions over the summer. My beast is just under 7lb..As for bream, I don't know what there eating these days but they are fighting harder than ever. My daughter caught her first bream recently and it caught like a carp. All caught on camera and on my channel. ATB Steve

Just found your channel and working my way through your videos (and greatly enjoying them). Good tench (and bream) fishing there, but shame about the condition of some of the tench (especially the mouths). What sort of measures do these syndicates take to ensure minimal damage to the fish?

@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Jonathan, glad you are enjoying the video's and thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm not too sure to be honest, it is a shame about the mouths though, I wonder if it's perhaps a mixture of heavy tackle and weed.

Being up in Scotland the coarse fishing is far poorer than back south (from Derby originally) but with fewer people targeting them they don't tend to get the same pressure. Do love tench, but hard to find specimen tench here.

To me it feels like Tench put up more of a fight than Carp for the same size fish. 3-5lb Common can be a bit enthusiastic but a Tench the same size seems to pull significantly harder. I only fish with a Daiwa 10' yank n bank mini method so definitely feels a bit more epic playing a Tench.

Haha, we don't mind them really Paul! :-) Fish for them a fair bit to be honest, great fun on our local river Yare too. Yeah using the fake baits takes a bit of getting used too, but if the Tench are feeding and 'having it' as such it's a good tip. Thanks for the kind comments though, keep up the great work with your channel too, hope your fishing is going well. Cheers Chris.

Hi Jason, I know this is obvious but to catch bigger tench fish waters that are known to have big fish. If 3lb is as big as the tench get in Dagenham waters you've done very well. By the way, raking up the bottom close in is a proven method of attracting tench. Tight lines mate.

That last bream is a good example of why they call them coarse fish. During breeding season the fish get small white 'pimples' on their head (you can see it at 14:08 ) creating a coarse texture which is where they get the name. Just an interesting fact

@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 6 жыл бұрын
All the bite alarm does is to alert you when you have a bite, it's not cheating, just helps you out on long sessions when fishing for bigger fish. The fisherman and skills you talk about come within the bait, rig and actually where to cast the bait. If you use the wrong, rig, bait or cast in the wrong place, the bite alarm won't help you catch fish?
