As you say Neil, it seems ages ago now. It’s funny, at times I still have to think twice before going into the supermarket or somewhere to make sure I’m wearing my mask. We still have to wear them on public transport, in hospitals, doctor’s surgeries and chemists.

In fact Leonardos is about a 10 minute drive from the office but the good news is, they were open yesterday and quite full...my problem was that as I was seeing places I wanted to video, I was videoing out of the wrong side of my car...DOH...anyway, they seemed to be doing OK yesterday but of course, only time will tell.

Hi, if you live in northern europe, you won't be disappointed. February might be a bit rainy at times but it'll soon clear up if it does. You might need to wear a light cardigan in the evening when going out but generally speaking, in the south, we'll have blue skies and sun with temperatures up to 25ºC during the day.

Hi Martin, thanks for watching. Yes, they've been turning over the sand so that it's clean sand for when people are allowed to go there again...just another precaution I guess. I'm no scientist but I imagine that as the beaches have been closed for 2 months now, it'll be unlikely to have survived on the sand but nevertheless...another thing to show how serious Tenerife is about protecting its citizens and tourists.

Just the same as the whole world then John...it's not just Tenerife or the Canary Islands that has suffered with COVID-19. In fact, for your information, the clean up process is well underway and has been for weeks. With no deaths since the 6th of May and new daily cases at 3 or lower since the 7th, Tenerife has been given a full health passport but unfortunately we now need the rest of the world to get themselves under control before the Spanish government will allow the tourists from other countries back in.

True Rico_PL, there's a lot of tourism based businesses, but hopefully we'll get back to some sort of normality by the end of the year. Thanks for watching.

Hi Mitchations, the question isn’t when the airlines will open here it’s a matter of when the Spanish government will open the borders. Some people have found, to their cost, that they can fly here but unless they’re Spanish residents or can prove that they have a Spanish property that is used as their main residence, then they’re not allowed off the airplane and will need to go back home. I understand that the European government will be making suggestions about how various countries can take the next steps, but I saw on the news last night that the Spanish government are considering extending teh lockdown again… There’s plenty of time to come to Tenerife and enjoy it…it’s just got to be done step by step.
