Refs did everything they could to help Tennessee, even turned a blind eye to that assault.

@@KingLeoVT yep. Liz had two or three on her back at times and the whistle never blew. Meanwhile, if she just looked at a Tenn. player they called the foul. I'm generally not one to be tough on refs because they do have a tough job and are humans, but when it's obvious like tonight, it gets me upset. Tennessee is a scrappy team (that's my polite way of saying it) and got away with way too much tonight. Hokies on the other hand played with class. The win was well deserved.

@Percy Lee….is it me or are we seeing a trend with dirty physical play and nasty handshake line confrontations in the women’s game in this year’s tournament?? Actually there was a few on court fights also (TCU comes to mind). It just seems like more this year. Feel free to tell me I’m nuts if I’m incorrect. I can take it lol

IMO, (UT) Walker should have been charged with a flagrant 1 foul and ejected from the game for the punch she threw at (VT) Soule…….but no foul called…….why? Soule very classy to shake off the punch and play on. Great game and GO HOKIES!!

Actually I thought the Soule girl got a little rough with an elbow a few possessions later. But it wasn’t as blatant as what she received. And paybacks can be warranted in my book

I saw that punch by the Tennessee player and was appalled. Disappointed with the refs all the way around.

@@user-xg5hh6co1w I've been a VT fan for life. Ohio State will most definitely throw on the press after tonight's game. Tech will clearly be working to improve their press break before Monday's game. We've got a great, level-headed team and coach, with lots of talent all around. These women have worked hard to get here and have set school records in tbe process. Whatever happens Monday, it's been a great season.

Tennessee's head coach Kelly Harper needs to go, BOTTOM LINE! NC State fired her for a reason. Also Tennessee's Athletic Director needs to go as well. Just bad decision after bad decision in choosing Coaches. Texas fired Rick Barnes for a reason!

Tennessee's coach looks like a real piece of work. Her body language says a lot, and it's reflected in her players. She wanted to contest every foul called which was ridiculous considering the refs were more than generous to her team. I mean, one girl went as far as punching a Tech player and got away with it. The better (and classier) team came out on top. Cooler heads prevailed.

Tennessee also needs to teach their players to have more class when they're getting that can of whoopa$$ handed to them on a silver platter.
