I am a UK fan so of course I have no love for Tennessee. That said, if you are going to win the whole thing you almost always have to win a game where everything goes wrong for you. 3-25 from the 3-point line and Knecht probably has his worst game of the season, yet they still won via defense and rebounding. That's impressive!

The kid’s grease Lightning ⚡️ in a bottle but also has the poise and court vision to set up his teammates time after time offensively while aggravating the Texas’ guards with denial and ball pressure that 9 turnovers were forced before halftime! Exceptional guard play by Ziegler and I hope he can keep up the high level play! JJJ great game also! DK knows he’s gotta play better. TOBE AWAKA!! Youngin’ you can be a beast when you learn how to stay out of foul trouble but LOVE the physicality!!! Aidoo big free throws sir! HOW SWEET IT IS, TO BE IN THE SWEET 16! GO VOLS!!!!

Both teams played great Defense They held Knecht in check and the rest of the fellas stepped up I've seen Knecht score tons of points and Texas wasn't havin it

Tennessee really got something going and a lot of non high recruits. Idk why Texas ever got rid of Barnes. He was recruiting and coaching at Texas

Player development, especially on defense which is something you have to develop anyway, is key for Rick Barnes. He purposefully doesn't grab up some of these 5 star guys just because he doesn't feel they are right fit for the program. Guys like Calipari on the other hand will take any 5 star he can get. It's easy to see how poorly that works out for him considering they are always one and dones every year with no real development.

The Longhorns of Texas at Austin gave the 2nd ranked Volunteers some trouble in the 2nd round but Tennessee will enter the Midwest Region Semifinal against the winner between the 11th place Ducks of Oregon & the 3rd seeded Blue Jays of Creighton.

UT fan here. I actually thought we were about to win. It was a thriller for sure. Both teams got physical on the defense towards the end. That 3 that look like it was going in then popped out was crazy. Free throws sealed it for the Vols though. I don't even consider UT ( Texas) not Tennessee. Lol. A great team but we took the best team out of the SEC down to the wire. See yall in the SEC. HOOKEM HORNS!

Also it was a bad game for Tennessee and a good one for Texas. On the nights that happened to any other sec teams they beat us. MState, A&M, almost Mizzou, etc. pretty “bad” SEC teams that competed better than Texas

This comment has some legit high level stats and thinking put into it. Let’s change the starting lineup to 1.) Zeigler 2.) Shack 3.) Jo 4.) Tobe 5.) Jonas Just start the game like this and make everything difficult for the other team. Bring DK and Gainey/Santi in off the bench once we’ve set the tone for the game. The rotation is endless for who those 2 subs come in for.. just depends on situation. #gbo

I'm not even mad. We actually had chances to tie it up or win. Our defense was exceptional. We got killed on the glass a little though. We'll be fine though. We lost by 4 points to a Tennessee team who some think can win it all. And honestly. I'm a Longhorn fan. We weren't all that good this year but we made the Tennessee fans nervous towards the end 😊.

7:43 old-schooler, here. Seems like this has been legal for a good 20 years now and I don't follow the game as closely as I used to, so I really don't understand. Can someone explain the rule to me? Back the day, this was traveling. Blatant traveling, in fact. On the playgrounds we called it "up and down". He leaves the ground (jumps), lands with both feet and then shoots. I'd like to know why this isn't considered traveling, and if this play is legal, is legal for a player to pick up his dribble at say, the top of the key, take a giant leap forward and land, and then decide what to do with the ball? And if so, how many times can he do this? Maybe just keep doing it until he's all the way to the basket? 'Cuz I don't see any difference, here. And I'm not being sarcastic. I'd sincerely like to know what the rule is that allows this play to not be called traveling?

You gotta go with the underdog man. Tennessee is great but not that great to beat a team like Texas by 7. Besides its March madness. If you looking for a team to win big go with a team like Connecticut, Houston, North Carolina, Illinois, Duke. It also depends on the match ups, who's sitting out. Head to head all time. Actually I'm not too sure about Houston vs Texas a&m today. That game might be closer than expected. If Houston plays their game, A&m can't hang with them. Good luck

And yet the 9th best team in the B12 nearly beat the best team of the SEC...... Yeah Texas was overhyped, but saying they had a losing record in the B12 doesnt really mean that they are garbage. The Top 3 teams of the B12 are on track to all make the Sweet 16. Whereas its likely only 1 will make it from the SEC.
