Absolutely. The song is a remake that legendary George Jones did back in the '80s. Chris Stapleton in my opinion does a better job but I grew up on the George Jones version as well. ❤️

Yes I remember when I first heard the first single he came out with years ago on the radio and I couldn't believe that the soul and that man's voice was coming out of his body. all of a sudden down of nowhere he blew up onto the country music scene and has been nonstop ever since. Tennessee whiskey is a remake from the legendary George Jones that did it first back in the '80s. but Chris put a different spin on it and made it sexy... He is a genius.

Two yrs later, it was nice of Mr. Perry at his own show to invite Mr. Stapleton to sing a tune. Mr. S, kept it respectfully short and sweet. A recorded voice said, "Tyler you're a genius." I've heard that Mr. Perry makes sure to look out for famous people like Mr. S, who may attend his plays, to show them respect and recognition; and that he did. The Black community don't have a problem accepting all people (family) and talent.
