TENOR CAM - 360º VIEW! Oak Mountain Band Drum Line performs the 2021 Halftime Show

Holding this one back since August 27, 2021 until competition season ended! This video captures the 360º view by the GoPro Max 360 mounted on one of the Tenor Drums!
The 2021 Oak Mountain High School Band show was titled "The Wild Wild West" and featured music from "The Magnificent Seven", "William Tell Overture", "Shenandoah", and "Silverado".
The band competed in the Lake Martin Invitational (October 2, 2021), the Pell City Marching Festival (October 16, 2021), and as shown here the Hoover Invitational Marching Festival (October 23, 2021). The 2021 Band was the largest in school history with 254 on the field and for the first time in school history the band competed in three competitions and won all three. The 2021 Oak Mountain Band earned the highest scores over all 77 other bands at these three competitions.
Congratulations to the 254 Outstanding Men and Women of the Oak Mountain High School Spirit of Cahaba Marching Band, Directors and Staff, all the parents and volunteers who contribute their time and talents to making a great band program! This was a special season and we are all so proud of these students for their accomplishments.

I feel like moving to a certain position while playing a tenor, (a pitched drum by the way, which makes it worse) also focusing on remembering the song, would be seriously hard

yeah it's definitely challenging but the time in spent in summer band camp makes it all possible lol. you rehearse the music so much that it lives rent free in your head and you end up memorizing it. and then the marching part of it from what i know is broken down into a few steps. first, you learn how to mark time while playing the music. once your good at that, you'll do tracking and box drills. these are marching exercises that help the player get used to playing and marching at the same time. after that, you learn your dots on the field and your sets. a lot of time is spent learning the sets and visuals. usually the last thing that happens is that you'll play show music while marching your sets for the show for a few hours. sorry for the whole ass explanation lol. also just wanna say that everything i've said doesn't happen at every school. some schools learn show music and learn how to march differently, but this is mainly how most of them do it.👍
