Tensioning Longlines Just Got Much Easier!

2 жыл бұрынHey everyone! I'm jumping the gun a bit here since I haven't yet formally released a "How to setup a longline" video yet but this method was too good to not share immediately.
In this video I share with you a new and improved way to tension longlines at any height in the park. This resource will prove to be especially useful to those that frequently rig their longlines really high on trees or by themselves. I happen to do both at times!
I hope this makes all your longlining lives much easier! I know it has for me already :))

Nice trick with the tensioning! Try a 100m flaccid line, it might be a serious challenge.

I love this! With this system, I wonder if its even worth taking the pulley system out of the whole rig (softpointing)? I see no issue with leaving it in unless your walking the short end or your worried about cyclical loading on the pulley brake.

Nice! If you're open to feedback I'd be a little more engaged if there was more walking footage of the whole line and if the initial explanation of the system was more visual - like the whole system was already setup and pretensioned and then you talked through it with video for every piece. I do appreciate how you mention the angle of the anchor vs redirect at the end and how you rerigged the high anchor though!

I like to backup everything, I would backup the big pulley just with a spanset or a sling if it is possible. The pulley holds a lot of force.

That’s absolutely true. It is also a giant block of metal that could really hurt someone in its trajectory… Good tip :)

I want to say I’ve rigged 100 meters at just over 8 feet high but that was with dyneema webbing :)
