He is being so extremely biased that he is changing the entire way in which the prosecution and defense have to work towards establishing their case in accordance with his political leanings instead of letting the evidence in to make its own statement. The prosecution has evidence that would level the playing field because both sides are seen as vigilantes. Both sides could argue self defense but the judge is claiming that one side can’t before the evidence is even shown.
