Hi, it's been nearly a year, how are your thoughts on this tablet now?

@@naruuwo This tablet is awesome, still have it and use it day and night. For the price it was an excellnt buy. Only one thing, but it's a major to me: my favorite drawing app, Concept on Android has a lot less features as on iPad, and has a number of annoying behavior. So, if You are a Concept fan, You'd better buy the lot more expensive iPad instead of any Android tablet. During this 10 months Concept developers did nothing on the Android version, a shame on Concept team.

S7FE should be able to handle those tasks. Just get the model with 6GB RAM if possible. Otherwise go with the S7 which can be connected to a monitor too.

Get the WiFi model features faster processor (778G). 6 GB RAM is better if you can afford to spend extra 100$.

I bought the tab s7 FE for just a few very specific reasons over the Plus and regular s7 11" that doesn't include price. First, I always have a lot of trouble with Screen Burn In on Oled displays, and I prefer a larger screen, FE is larger than the regular s7 and won't burn in, so that was a no brainer for me. Second, the 60hz refresh and slightly lower res is going to save a lot of the battery life especially when watching movies and such when a high refresh is not needed, opposed to the s7 which has a Fixed 120hz refresh rate. so it should out perform on battery life in most departments. Third, I am an Artist and I notice that Samsungs Samoleds colors aren't true to print and true to life. So when I draw something, the print always looks vastly different on samoled, FE and s7 11" don't have this issue. LCD is also a much cheaper and easier replacement than Samoled. The downsides for me is not having a Flashlight, I don't use the camera much. But I do use the flashlight at work a lot, so I'll still have to pull put my phone for that. And you might miss the 2 extra speakers, but honestly without having something to compare the FE speakers to in person, you will be very happy with the sound. Last is the Processor, which runs apps perfectly fine, maybe just not as Super Fast as the other 2, but it works just fine for just about everything, just make sure to get the WiFi model. If you need lte then just run it off the Hotspot of your phone, you'll never need an LTE tablet again. FE is still most definitely a great buy in 2022 for $350usd.

Since you are in research field.....may I know what android apps do you use for research paper citation and also for statistical analysis work???

Get the Tab S7

I've already recorded the review for that and will publish in a few day's time. I bought one with 16GB RAM and it works really nicely. 8GB RAM should be fine unless you have many, like a lot, apps open at the same time and using them (e.g. exporting videos in the background). If you want to keep the Mac Mini for a long time, I recommend upgrading the RAM. You can save money by not going with the storage upgrade. Consider Microsoft 365 which is US$69 per year which will give you 1TB online storage. With Apple, it's $200 more to upgrade from 256GB to 512GB. Microsoft 365 is also a backup so you'll never lose your files. Or just get an external SSD drive. Cheaper too.

Just bought mine 128 GB storage with 6 GB RAM. How is your drawing experience with it, and which drawing app would you recommend. I'm an old school artist with pen and paper.

Clip Studio Paint Pro has a ton of unique features, I recommend a KZfaq vid like "Top 10 coolest thing you can do with Krita!" or something like that. How has been the tablet experience so far? I'm also looking forward to buying it. Just need to find the right sale :D

Get the model with 6GB of RAM. Otherwise, get the normal Tab S7 which is a much better tablet just with a smaller display.

But apps are not going to refresh that often. Apps refresh when left in background and not used for a long time.

Samsung is more value for money

I probably would go with the Tab S7 because the processor is noticeably more powerful and provides for a lag-free experience. That's not to say the S7 FE is laggy though, just that S7 is more powerful. However, I do prefer drawing on a much larger display. So, difficult choice. lol. In terms of value for money, the cheaper one is better.

@@teohontech7141 Thank You for help. I went with cheaper and bigger screen (budget! ;)). Altough the processor could be confusing - there are two versions of FE one with 750g (5G) and one with 778G (6gb wifi). On geekbench 750g is 41% slower than 865 and 778g is 20% slower - so 778g is exaclty between those two processors(865, 750). I think this could be inrfomation useful to other readers! By the way I was watching Your instagram lately and Your style is definitely cool and unique.

If they are similar price, get the Samsung which is overall a better tablet

They look kinda similar to me. Both have good colours, brightness and viewing angles.

Perhaps the Samsung since it's cheaper. Actually consider the Tab S7 instead of the S7 FE because Tab S7 has a noticeably more powerful processor, more RAM, 4-way speakers, 120HZ display.

S7 FE is good

There's good palm rejection. Some apps will have perfect palm rejection.

Samsung S7 and S8 series are the best tablet by far for drawing .

It should be fine, the drawing performance should not be too different.

The Wifi Version has better screen resolution and better Processor (SD 778 instead of 750 5G), so you actually save the money for better version by sacrificing 5g connectivity.

I may recommend iPad instead since I don't know what apps you will be using. There's more drawing, graphic design, vector apps on Apple App Store compared to Google Play Store.

Glass screen protectors may affect pen performance. Matte screen protectors will wear off the soft nib of S Pen faster. Matte screen protectors have to pair with hard plastic pen nibs.

The 6/128 is only $90 CND more right now, it's worth it to future proof your tablet a little longer. I suggest you return them if you still can and get the 6/128 model.

@@deleqtronica8733 Tempting upgrade but bear in mind I started at 350$ budget with the S6 Lite. How much longer can I extend the tabs life with additional 2 Gigs RAM considering the battery is non-replaceable? I can increase storage up to 1 TB with expandable memory so 128 Gigs is no biggy.

@@hz240 I don't think extra 2GB makes a difference for everyday tasks. There was a comparison and it was stated the extra RAM is useful if you plan on opening multiple apps at the same time.

iPad Pro is significantly more expensive but it's also noticeable more powerful, e.g. way smoother performance. In terms of value for money, get the Samsung, but get the 6GB RAM model

120hz is better and noticeable but you are not missing out without 120hz.

Not sure about that. The physical design of the tablets seem similar.

I no longer have that tablet to test so I can't say for sure. But 1770 x 2006 isn't considered to be a high resolution file so it should be alright.

Just for note taking? Go for S7FE/ S6 Lite / A8 then...if you're particular to detail and apps optimization..then Ipad obviously

If you go for the iPad don't forget to buy the apple pencil.... it's not part of the box, but is sold separately.

I also took advantage of the $250 trade-in discount via the Samsung Trade-In program. The particular device that I’m trading in is my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020), which is a used unit that I bought from eBay for less than $200. That tablet was feeling sluggish nowadays. It was basically showing its age, period.

S7 FE may be better. The display is much better quality, larger, battery life is 14 hours.

Yeah, this is good if you have the budget.
