Here is my Akalath Quarantine guide. It was recorded from sorcerer POV, but it should help tanks and healers as well. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments below.

Thanks this has been really useful. I've picked up tera after like 7 years and with a new class too - my friend's been bringing me to this dungeon but i spent more time dead than doing stuff XD

Nice guide. Short, Sweet, and Concise with important mechanics. Slayer has a glyph on Knockdown Strike that reduces damage to 50% too.

Thx for the guide , just made a lanc to kill some time before LA . Never did this dungeon before , the color coding was abit confusing . I dun like ppl who mess up to much so i looked it up . In the video u still take dmg , i thought u fcked up at first and wanted to show dmg numbers ... but u always take dmg . Then i didnt understand what color is doin what . Well to keep this short , its like Kelsaiks flames u have to get the opposite "debuff" to not die . U have red go grab blue . U "grab" the color the boss has above its head when taking his hands in da air like he does not care . Everything else was actualy ezpz had a good healer so the debuff wasnt a problem . gj

Yeah, there are two ways to think about the color mechanic. I think the way you said it here is how most people think about it, but it "simplifies" to "Take the outside if your color matches the boss', and take the inside if it's the opposite color"

Nice guide, I heard that the closer you are to the boss when he does his jump at 5:11 the less damage you take, though I haven't tested it.

Thanks. And yes, that is true. He does the inner AOE first and follows up by a thin ring AOE around that, right after. The ring does more damage than the inner circle. I'm not sure though if there is a difference between being right behind the boss or being still inside the inner AOE, but further away.

I ran this dungeon 3 times so far before watching your guide. The second boss is ok even if u dont know the mechanics, but the first one is a nightmare. So many one shots its ridiculous. Its probably due to this debuff u mentioned. In my first time i died so many times, then the other runs i was kinda lucky i believe. Could you please explain the colour mechanic? (maybe show a picture coz I dont see the colour debuff even in the video :D ) Edit: Also i playa baraka berserker, so going to the outer circle will still be difficult even if I see the colours :D I am returning player from 2013 :D played 8 days so far :D

Oh welcome back to TERA then : ) The colour mechanic is easy, if you have the same colour as the boss' aura, then you need to take the outer aoe, if it's the opposite you take the inner aoe. If you look in my video, my (de)buff bar above the boss' HP bar has a second row with only one icon in it (right below my login buff). That is the colour debuff I'm talking about. Even on zerk it should be possible to take the outer aoe when needed, you can stop animations by blocking, or stop charging a skill using evasive smash. Then already move towards the border between both aoes while you look at the debuff to see which aoe you need to take. That way you can just jump into the right aoe at the last moment.

@@YUKATIGaming thank you. I knew about the block and animations,but gotta learn how to move more effeciently and also pay more attention to the icons. Atm i am trying focusing on skill rotation and bar. Space-key chains were bad from what i told. Also zerky has the rng lethal strike i gotta pay attention. Anyway, thanks for the help man. Peace

@@YUKATIGaming Also, do you know what is the hardest hitting skill out of all classes? (assuming full gear and consumables). I always thought it would be zerker's thunder strike, but I have seen some crazy numbers from archers and valkyries. (I am not talking about 2-3 really fast chained skills, but more of a one skill dmg either with one pure number or with multiple hits like zerker's cyclone for example). thanks in advance

I don't know, but there are a few classes with single strong hits. Sorcerer has implosion, and I think lancer's super leap does a lot in one hit too. But single hit numbers are not important, it's more important how much damage per second somebody does.

Hi. I'm pretty new to the game, so I'm trying to find everything out, So my question is really what do you pick as a sorc in EP, and since there really isn't any new guides to Tera classes in 2020 it's hard to find info....

Hi, well I basically chose those that looked good to me, "EP attack" or "EP power" is not worth it though. In the strengthen offense tab you can already take the one called mighty attack. It just increases the characters power. There should also be another one that increases power when using a certain skill in strengthen offense. But I'll check tomorrow evening when I log in, and I'll let you know which ones I chose.

Ok, so in the "Strengthen Offense" tab you should max out Mighty Attack, and Amplification for Mana Boost. In the "Resource Recovery" tab max out the ones for Lightning Strike, Void Pulse and Hail Storm. In "Speed Increase" max out the skill for Nova. And in "Defense/Special" Mighty Defense I guess. Those are the ones I think you should absolutely use. For the rest I just distributed them on things that I thought were useful. Just make sure you take ones that are useful in Boss fights, so nothing about knocking down enemies (for pve at least). "EP Damage" / "EP Attack Power" doesn't increase damage that much as far as I know, but sorcerer doesn't have as many nice ones as some other classes, so you can spend leftover points on your main skills there maybe (500 EP is the max you'll get). Also some of the skills, like Speed increase for Retaliate, give like 5% on the first increase, and a lot less on subsequent ones, so I sometimes only take level 1, if it's useful but not essential for damage.

Hi. If you look in my video in the top, above the boss' HP bar at my buff/debuff bar. It has a second row on the right, with only one symbol which is either red or blue. That is the debuff you have to watch out for.

As a priest my main problem is that freaking jump 5:16. Sometimes i die even after using kaia and can't it... am I supposed to just die?

Yeah, it sucks, that's why I run it on sorcerer (can use nova to reduce damage) rather than my main, which is ninja. I asked a main priest from my guild, she said she also died a lot from that jump, until she got the Dark Light gear. You can maybe use Holy Burst to reduce damage by 30%.

I still can't avoid that red/blue mechanic. 1. if debuff blue , so i must go to red ? 2. if I'm at right color, I take half hp or no damage ?

1. You have a colour debuff and the boss has a colour too. If you have the same colour as the boss you take outer, if you have opposite colour you take inner. 2. If you do it wrong you die, even if you were at full HP. If you do it right you still take damage, but if you're close to full HP you survive.

I don't see the color on the boss at all, i get the part with the debuff on myself, but where can i see the color on the boss ?

At the start of the colour mechanic you see either a blue or a red swirl around the lower half of the boss. That is the boss' colour.

Yes it still works, you need somebody with a skill to loose aggro, like archer or sorcerer. Then instead of the tank running in first, the sorcerer or archer runs in, waits to get aggro, and then uses the skill to loose aggro (stone skin or feign death). Then the tank has to quickly take over aggro before the boss resets.

@@YUKATIGaming Bosses usually run towards the middle of the arena and then reset (if they are far enough). Is that run our window to try to glitch it?

The sorcerer or archer should run towards the boss who is still in the middle before the fight starts, and then just stand there until the boss aggros them. After using stone skin or feign death there is like a 1 second window before he reset. So the tank needs to be right behind and attack as soon as they see the sorcerer or archer used the skill

seems like fresh level 65 healers with a low item level can now do this dungeon. its mad.

Yeah, it's a low level dungeons now. They always do that, release a new dungeon that is (somewhat) challenging, and later they nerf it so much, and turn it into a low level dungeon.

Which buff? If you mean the colour debuff, you get it from the colour mech itself if you didn't have a colour yet, or from that wave attack he does that doesn't do any damage.

For the colour mechanic, you have to get hit by the colour opposite of your own debuff. The inner circle will be the same colour as the boss' weapon/aura. This can be simplified to: If you have the same colour debuff as the boss' weapon/aura, then you have to take the outer donut, and if you have the opposite colour, you need to take the inner circle. Example: Your debuff is red, so you need to get hit by the blue aoe. If the boss has a red weapon/aura for example, then the inner circle is red too. You have to take the opposite colour, so you have to take the outer donut in that case.

I actually want to make a guide for FA, but I still haven't completed it. I have a few friends who have completed it a bunch of times, but they all use the toolbox guide that warns them about upcoming attacks while running, so they can't really help me recognize attacks early enough, because they can't run it without toolbox either.

what is i framed and boss buff color?

stands for invulnerability frame. Some skills your character has let you dodge some boss attacks without leaving the area where the boss' attack hits. Those are s. Check out this link, it has a list of skills that are s, for each class: tera.fandom.com/wiki/Iframe About the boss' colour; when that mechanic comes up, you see a red or blue swirl around his feet, that's his buff colour.

In my video you see my (de)buff bar above the boss' HP bar. It has a second row with only one (blue or red) icon in it. That icon in the second row tells you which colour you have.

It's a level 70 dungeon now. You will see it in your instance matching list and vanguard window once you reach level 70.

@@YUKATIGaming That's sad, do you know any good ways to farm gold? Someone told me that doing this dungeon is a good way but I just reached level 69 and need gold right now

I would say Red Refuge and RK9 are at least just as good if you only need the gold. They give less gold than Akalath Quarantine, but they typically also take a lot less time to run.

XD "earrape" is a strong word, is it really that bad? I'm curious if it's actually my voice, or if it's something I can improve. I'm aware that the quality of my recordings could be better, I'm still learning how to improve that. While recording for the AQ video I was way too close to the microphone for example.

@@YUKATIGamingi should have mentioned that your videos are definitely good and helpful, but yeah as you said i suggest you don't speak so close to the microphone. And your voice is fine, it's just that you're quiet and whenever you say an "s" it's way louder, so my ears kinda hurt from your "s"ses.
