***** Thanks Lon for following up. here is what i have and want to see how should i go ahead and connect them together. 1) hd camera 2) atem television studio 3) decklink mini recorder capture card 4) live stream broadcaster ( can i use this to broad cast on you tube or ustream?, don't want to pay monthly fees for livestream account) 5) blackmagic hyperdeck shuttle ( to record on ssd HD) 6) i have allen and heath fx10 12 channel mixer for sound input as well. what is the best way i can connect so I can stream to you tube, record on hyperdeck shuttle and don't have any lag between sound and picture. i tried to record on hyperdeck it doesn't record (it does see the video input, light is green, but ssd light is red) also i tried wirecast, and for capture i added decklink card, but does not display anything. even though light is green. for decklink card hdmi is coming from atem prog out. for shuttle, inout is coming for sdi prog. all video settings are 1080i 59.94 I really appreciate all your videos and reviews. would greatly appreciate if you can do a demo for the above setup. thanks -Zabed

***** Yes you're right, but you have to have Adole flash media live encoder to encode and stream it on you tube. but the computer is not very young, 6years old, and i wonder if it's not better to use an external device like VidiU to encode. It let more power for the computer to do the cut and receive the signal of differents cameras. What do you think about it? Thanks for your preview answer and maybe the future one ;-)

The old ATEM had the HDMI out unfortunately the new one doesn't so you'll need an SDI to HDMI adapter.

The advantage to this unit is the multiple platform feature and is why we are considering purchasing one. Many software encoders are not compatible with multiple platforms. If you are streaming your game playing or movie reviews to KZfaq, a regular capture device into your laptop with a software encoder would be just fine. But in the client based world one client may want to do FaceBook Live hits while another insists on putting their 2 hour event on LiveStream, and a third client wants to go to KZfaq. We recently started offering live streaming after an existing client requested it for a special event. What we cobbled together in-house worked great to both FB and YT, but we could not get a signal to LiveStream, their preferred provider. We rented a LiveStream Producer along with some other extra equipment to cover the event. With a one-time investment in a VidiU Pro, we'll be able to increase our available platform offerings to clients.
