What you demonstrated is stellar. You backed into D--the proportionality constant--by using the observed terminal speed of a skydiver. Can you make a video that derives Vt from first principles for a sphere with a known Cd of 0.47 and rho of 1.229 kg/m^3? A realistic example would be a baseball of 0.145 kg and projected area of 0.0044 m^2.

Remember force is the application of ACCELERATION, not velocity, on a mass. So there can be no net force but still movement at CONSTANT speed. There is no force acting upon an object, even if it's moving, unless its speed is changing (or direction for circular motion).

I think that there’s 2 formulas because the slow one is less accurate and when speeds are high it gets more inaccurate so I would just do the high speed one.

He sounds like he's from Louisiana or somewhere close to that. I'd be shocked if he comments and be like he's indeed from there as I'm just guessing. I'm Indian but due to being on internet a lot , someone taught me southern american accent really well I mean really well and so from the experience I'd say he's from Louisiana I could be wrong though
