??? It's explained in the films. They are programmed by a sentient computer to kill. They are capable of learning. And they're good infiltrators because they're designed to be, by the computer. These things aren't skills they picked up somewhere like a person might and we wonder how that happened. They're made that way, for that purpose and we knew that from the very first film. Regardless of whether the series stays on track with the films or contradicts them, no one was asking these questions.

It's been a long time since I've seen this show, but IIRC the Terminator tracked this guy down because he's a doctor who can do tissue regeneration. The Terminator has the guy make a tissue regeneration bath in the bathtub, so the Terminator can get human skin to hide its appearance. It lost its original skin before this somehow. I think the Terminator was an antagonist, but I can't recall right now.

If I reemember correctly, the guy was some sort of scientist and, instead of being intimidated, he was fascinated by the Terminator after it solved an apparently impossible formula to create living tissue using blood. In the end that fascination lead to him being murdered by the machine.

First season was a lot of fun. Second season was inconsistent because much of it was written by free-lance artist during a Writers Guild strike. But I think the show was more interesting than a lot of the movie sequels.

@@nightshadedesign I completely agree. Here in the UK we got the show on a delay from US release which made watching series two and its falters a bit baffling before looking up the reason. My thoughts exactly regarding the show in comparison to later movies. I remember feeling so satisfied that the material was being treated 'properly' for the first time in years.

Cameron kinda has a inner hate for the films. Most of what he says these days about T1-T2 is about regrets he has with making them and hating guns. I honestly think he wanted everything to flop after T2. Either way, he has fucked off to go do his epic Space Smurf pentalogy. The less he has to do with the Terminator franchise these days, the better.

These are a bit different, if I remember well this model is a T-888, they are in the 800s but slightly upgraded to pass as more common people, yet are more robotic in attitude and other things. As for T-800s, their teeth were human looking in their endoskeleton because aside their skin, they are to pass for humans like Kyke Reese said. It is the older models like T-600s and T-700s that still looked fake.

Because that's one of the ways they pass for human when they have the flesh on their endoskeleton.

Fun fact: T800 isn't mentioned in either of the first two Terminator movies. Only "model 101" and "600 series".
