Hello friends - we meet again. This time, we're discussing Ternion Sound style sound design and arrangement with our old reliable - Vital and Ableton.
The sounds and techniques employed are similar to others I've shown in the deep dubstep style, but dive even deeper into the familiar techniques.
Sine waves, harmonics, FM, distortion, and wubby filters are mainstays, but through subtle automations and FM-y layers - you can get even more depth and variation from your wubs.
Don't forget the drums! Thankfully with some sample digging and utilization of Ableton's dub echo presets, your track will be a 'badmon ting' in no time.
Don't just copy me though! Experiment and see what you can create!
As always, be sure to like if you enjoyed the video, comment your questions and suggestions, and subscribe and click the bell to stay up to date with future tutorials :)

Hey man, just wanted to let you know I found a job, so in a couple of months I'll finally be able to book a few lessons with you. I'm happy because I've been wanting to do this for as long as I've known your channel, and because you deserve all the support we can give you. In the meantime, thanks for the content, you are the GOAT.

Are these dub presets, like Fake Dub Room, or analog triplets, something you have to download? or are they just not in ableton 11

I have to say, I've watched so many different music production videos in my 7-8 years worth of producing, and I do not think I learned more, or was given more tools in a single video than I did here. So many doors opened, and the ability to craft the sounds/automations I am hearing in my head is now possible. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge

Yo dude - you got the best leftfield bass tutorials on YT hands down. I like how you break down each sound every time (even tho a lot are similar in terms of wavetable shapes and stuff) - it helps me a TON in my sound design creation and process. Keep up the great work!

16:59 got chills hearing that sub 🥺 I'd say actually play the riff on keyboard. I've been drawing it with the curser for about ten years and regret every second of it. A good monotone rhythm might not sound good with different notes. It's better to organically create both of them together.

yo man, all i have to say is thank you. sound design has been the most difficult thing for me since starting to produce EDM because there arent very clear tutorials on how to do it, they either move too fast without explaining or you wont even get the sound you were really looking for, until I found you. I've used your tutorials to make 3 or 4 songs from scratch that i am REALLY proud of so, thank you. You got my sub all day.

Loving your tutorials, you are helping in so many ways! One thing though: I tried remaking the second bass synth, the one with the kind of riser LFO and I noticed that your sound, as soon as you put on the first FM sounds like the pitch of the note was oscillating and mine did not do that even though I think (!) I did everything exactly as you did. Am I missing something?

I don't use Ableton live but can't you use an instrument and effects rack for the mid bass and sub to bypass copy pasting? In FL studio I would just make a Layer channel and set both as it's children.
