I listened to this song and album a ton 20 years ago. It shocked the shit out of me to hear it out of nowhere on Altered Carbon. FYI, the guitar work is by Alexander Hacke of Einstuerzende Neubauten fame.

I really like the Trip Hop movement. I do hope it sticks for a while. Hard to find hard, dark, fine grind music. All over the map it is, and it makes me want to sway.

Funny thing, the first time I heard this in Altered Carbon, the drum loop that appears at 01:57 reminded me of Beastie Boys' "Rhymin and Stealin". I was right, as it is the same sample coming from the 1971 Led Zeppelin's song "When the Levee Breaks", also sampled in the BBoys song.

Ahhh yes this haunting piece. A french compilation ablum called Un autome 1999 first introduced me to Terranova when I was a teenager. I then found this song on youtube in 2010 and listened to it like on repeat. I think it was this very upload to be honest with you. So its good to be back. Still, we had the New Retro Wave so its long time to bring the Trip Back to the Hop.

I have strange kind of memory about this song and whole terranova band. Older brother of my best school friend left his cd collection to us, terrannova album was there, the one with ferarri and ferris wheel on cover. Man that was fun, we where bunch of outcast teenagers, with cd boombox, weed was cheap and easy. Some terranovas stuff reminds me tricky, fever dream kind of music

I one worked on a rotoscope animation sci-fi and the name was Terra Nova. I came by this song by accident and thought it fits perfect as the OST. Only later I saw the name of the band is actually Terranova.
