Beware places where fish is cooked and keeping warm , probably due to prices good shops cook all fish to order as you wait , well worth it

That's an absolute shame that, I used to love the Perch many years ago and looked forward to my Fish and Chips, The Mediteranian was always a close second, I've always loved the Art deco Building with the indoor fair and the outdoor swimming pool just down the road. Looks like the kind of building you see on Miami Vice.

Out of the chippies I have tried, there is really only three places I have had a tasty fish on the Wirral. They are Jimmys Continental Cuisine (Seacombe), Georgio's (Claughton) and Pisces Take Away (Heswall) all three of these cook it fresh and it makes a big difference. Before today I have had pollock passed off as cod in some places.

Good look around of the area, I've been all along the south coast between Cornwall & Sussex (not all the places), but first time up north ... gonna have a proper look Dec Nice to see the old pics & wanna check out those dock rigs/turbines opposite more. Walked all up that road to see the back of them ! Gonna get my bearings, and see what I can see

Dear oh dear guys ! To say that the first one was the best doesn't really say much as they were both well below par. We didn't think the first one was a large and didn't appear to be evenly cooked although it did look fairly meaty but the second one was a disgrace ! No wonder they gave you 2 fish as they were so thin. There was more batter than fish in those as well as being very greasy. Not chippies that we'll be visiting that's for sure ! Thanks to you both for "taking one (two) for the team" !

Both of these where awful really Robbie & Jane , we visited the first chippy a couple of years ago and it was so much better then !! The second one was like you say empty batter swimming in grease 🤮 We definitely wouldn’t recommend you visit either of these 😂😂😂

Hi guys ❤️⭐️❤️ first fish looked fine 😊but other fish didn’t look fresh ☹️and I hate soggy batter ☹️ and I’d wrestle seagulls to the ground if they tried to nick my chippie 😂 is new Brighton different to just Brighton 🤔I know it’s a holiday place 😊 but never been. Love to both ❤️⭐️❤️xx

I love the old art deco theater building! I also love seeing those old photos!! And the history of the pier... "when Tracy was a girl" lolol It seems like the kind of touristy place that overcharges because they can. The greasy stuff grosses me out pretty bad. The second one looked disgusting! It must have been nice to get out though, and it looks like you had good weather for it.

Hi Marilynn, yes it’s so long ago I can hardly remember it 😂😂😂 Yes, you’re right - they know they can charge what they like and spew out any old rubbish because visitors will buy it 😢 Absolutely no customer satisfaction guarantee here !! We did have nice weather and it was lovely to be at the seaside 😂😂😂

First single fish looked quite good , second double specimen all batter with a spread of fish in middle , with price of cooking oil as it is you’ve got about a fivers worth in container

Yes out of the 2 shops the first fish was the better … haha yes the oil slick 🤔🤔

Hi Tracy and Colin. Sorry you had to be faced with two terrible fish. The first one was just passable but that second pair looked dreadful. You could see the grease in it and oozing out. Surely New Brighton can do better. Thanks for this vlog Folks. 🤓 🐶

Such a shame the first piece of fish wasn’t brilliant, but the second was terrible how they had the front to sell that is beyond me! Such a shame good money wasted . The actual area looked a nice place to visit. Thank both of you👏🤩🤩😘😘❤️❤️

@@TracyandColinTheFoodieshanks! definitely looking forward to the change of scenery + massage. Just thought about a place at nyc that we used to get fish & chips from years ago. Bobby Flay had a cooking competition with them. U pick the fish, they cook it for u so a little bit of a wait but well worth it. They brought where they cook (not sure what it's called, I guess a fryer? Trying to remember other dishes other than freid dessert) all the way from the UK. 1st time I saw malt vinegar as a condiment at the few / small seating area. They were quite busy / popular. There's a park across from them so we ate there weather permitting. Memories with my mom as it's her bday today. I hope she's still celebrating in heaven.

That didn't look good guys & I'm sure those seagulls were eyeing up your dinner (think they'd have forfeited the 2nd one) ... Gonna go back in Dec & have another look around ... I'll stick to the supermarket instead. Gonna raid the big Sainsburys to take a snack with me over 'the pond' Forgot about the day out in TQ I had in 2008, so that was the last time I saw the sea. I don't mind the breeze & you can take a bike up there (unlike the south where they block it off all summer). Might bring my scooter next year - once I've found out what's up with me on 20th ...
