This is one of the big wrestling videos people have asked me to get back on KZfaq. I always find factions interesting but Wade Barrett's Corre was a complete disaster as they were often beaten up by Big Show and Kane. They did somehow win the Intercontinental title and the tag belts. But unlike Gunther, Wade Barrett will not be remembered as an excellent IC champion. Find out why on this episode of ring of the hawk.

More like what Barrett should’ve been. Cena ruined that at summerslam when he buried the nexus. If wade won that match his career would’ve been very different. Cena even acknowledged in a later interview that he made the wrong decision. Cuz I’m pretty sure nexus was originally supposed to win, but cena used his backstage power to change to outcome cuz he wanted to send the fans home happy.

@@mezykinNXT only built momentum because Vince didn't bother with it. Until 2021 when he killed the Black and Gold NXT in favor of NXT Fuchsia. Completely killing everything fans loved about NXT. Until it was rescued from Vince and his minions.

They could've made this guy Undisputed Champ and I still would feel like he never got as much as he deserved, dude had "it" and they squandered it. Super Cena and Blandy Boreton main eventing PPV after PPV made this one of my least favorite times in wrestling (like, the end of Ruthless Aggression leading into PG). All they had to do was not bury the Nexus goddamnit

What happened to that Corre vs. New Nexus rivalry they were doing at the beginning? They brawled at the beginning of the Royal Rumble, which should have meant they were gonna feud into Wrestlemania 27. But it didn't happen and they decided to move things along as if nothing ever happened. The feud could've been great but instead the WWE decided to bury both groups by having them get destroyed by the Big Show, Kane, and Randy Orton killing any momentum they had and setting both groups up to fail

I must be one of maybe three people that own The Corre t-shirt...and yes I only bought the shirt because I was a big Wade Barrett fan and really liked the Corre's V5 theme song. Such a shame how the faction was booked, side note, Ezekiel's run in Lucha Underground is really underrated, loved his work there.

Match 2 is actually around the time i stopped tuning in too. Cena looked like such a spoiled child at this time. Around the time nxt was bringing in so much talent, that nobody wanted to put over. It felt so weird watching. You could feel the backstage chatter in the ring.

Wade Barrett was just a really big fan of the irish band called the corrs so the faction was a tribute to them. The main plan was for wade to be the wwe champ with the help from jim corr while sharon, andrea and caroline cause a distraction by playing breathless

wade barrett got fucked by hulk cena who's been on a rewriting history tour where he pretends he wasn't burying everybody because in the twilight of his career he had some good US title matches which makes up for it all. although he's able to explain why it wasn't his fault for most things, seeing him try to explain how he didn't single handedly bury the nexus is pretty pathetic.

Shit like this was why the tag and IC titles lost so much prestige. A terrible stable who never win and are always made to look like losers, yet they carried 3 belts for some reason. I was there at WM27 for that one minute Corre squash. The entrances took longer than the stupid match.

I was 12 when I attended with my dad and younger brother for that Smackdown taping in London where match 17 happened and Kane & The Big Slow won the tag team belts from Slater & Gabriel. I also wore a T-shirt of Stewie Griffin from Family in his nappy at the event for some reason, don't ask me why cos I don't know.

the core wasn't it but the Kofi Kingston, Santino Marellla, Big Show and Kane team up is one of the most unexpectedly entertaining things to come out of it. Feels like something just random enough for survivor series or something that'd happen as a smaccdown vs raw match skit

I know it's to avoid getting copyright strikes etc. - but the mirror-inverted footage always looks so awkward. Everybody is working the wrong side - or has suddenly converted to working Mexican-style on American wrestling shows... It just looks so weird!
