It's a little off-topic, but I met David Howard Thornton at comic con, and he's such a sweet guy. I told him how much I loved his performance in both Terrifier movies and how much he terrified me (no pun intended) and he said "well I did my job." And he's mentioned how much fun he has in those movies.

Unpopular opinion but Art using the gun in part 1 really set him as scary in my book. Because it was such a human/realistic side to an unreal character. It was effective
@Noobie2k7

I agree. Also shows that he will just resort to the easiest method to kill you if he feels you might be getting the upper hand. That's far more scary than just a typical old school slasher villain you see people regularly fight off and run away from. If Art wants to kill you and you run off he will just shoot you anyway.

So cool to be mentioned, not once but twice! Thanks James! Very rare for stunt performers to get a shout out. How many takes were you asked to do for each stunt in the film before Damien said "That's good, the editors have enough to keep continuity." (i.e. editing your footage together with Lauren's so you can't easily tell who's who)? I appreciate the precision, positioning, and camerawork that go into how stunt performers are choreographed to have their faces hidden or obscured at just the right angle while doing such physically demanding work.

I don't know why but the little moments where Art is acting normal like when he handed out candy to children for Halloween or brought her the bag after she forgot it so she could pay at the register makes him so intriguing to me. Also I love him using guns.

Those are the best moments for me. Like the diner in the first film. Because you know he's crazy and super dangerous and you feel tense on behalf of the unknowing possible victims. I wish they'd emphasize that a bit more in the films, honestly.
@methuselah8885
@methuselah8885 2 ай бұрын
My favorite moment was him pulling that pistol out in the first movie. It shows that even if he's mute, psychotic and a sadist he's still a normal human and he still wants to keep a trumpcard around in case someone manages to overpower him. So it's a real shame that he became immortal. I think that really takes away from him as a character.

Fun fact: the bag jump scare in the Halloween store was actually improvised. I was at a con last week where Damien and some of the cast from terrifier 2 did a panel. Apparently, Lauren legitimately forgot the bag and Damien was debating whether they should start the scene over. Then David had a better idea.

Bro, that was actually chilling when Art smiled and moved his head to the side to make it easier for her to slice his head off. If I was about to decapitate an enemy and they did that, I don't even think I could feel like I actually defeated them even after I decapitated them. Imagine smiling at the person about to kill you and assisting them with your death.
@83shadow3
@83shadow3 5 ай бұрын
Art did that because he knew that the Pale Girl as Damien Leone calls her. Would just resurrect him again like she or it did after he put the bullet through his head. At the end of Terrifier 2016 because the Pale Girl or clown girl is the supernatural force that resurrected Art back from the dead. In the ending of Terrifier 2016 so he knew he would come back. Because if you actually pay attention to the drawing of Sienna holding the head. In her father's drawing the head is clearly not Arts head it looks nothing like him. It looks like a demon head because it has pointed ears an other facial features. That looks nothing like Arts head because at the start when Art is washing his clothes. You clearly see he does not have pointed ears.

There's a story about the Jormsvikings where they were defeated in battle and captured. They were sentenced to be executed, rather than ransomed. They were to kneel down, and one by one beheaded by a sword. One of the Vikings told his executioner that he was particularly fond of his long hair and wished not to be parted with it in the afterlife, so they had another guy hold his hair. As the sword descended, the Viking pulled back suddenly, and the man who had been holding onto his hair lost his hands. The rest of the Vikings had a good laugh before they met their ends.

I admire Leone. even though 2 isn't 100% perfect its abundantly clear he took every bit of criticism of the first one to account when making this one an improvement in every single way. you might have mentioned it in the vid itself but there is a tribute to stefan karl (the actor who played robbie rotten) in the end credits as he and thornton were friends. thornton took a lot of inspo from how karl played rotten for Art. It comes full circle in The Mean One because the two met when thornton was an understudy for karl who played the grinch

The Sienna Shaw character for me is now in horror movie girl royalty with some of the greats. Given how extreme Terrifier 2 was, I am genuinely curious as just how far Leonne will take part 3. 👀
@StevenRice
@StevenRice 5 ай бұрын
Well - considering a boatload of major studios went to Leone to produce T3 because of the success of the second one, and then within the first 5 pages of the script backed out after he refused to remove the opening scene - I think it's going to be taken pretty far. He also stated he's going back a bit more to the cruelty and darkness of the first Terrifier - so hey. We're in for a X-Mas miracle next year XD LOL

@82Jaster
@82Jaster 5 ай бұрын
@@StevenRice Yeah, he's said that even though people like Art, the character is intended to be repugnant. And it sounds like T3 will really lean into that. So i'm going to guess that based on the teaser that the opening is going to be Art killing a kid. Kids being harmed is something that doesn't happen a lot in movies, particularly in any sort of graphic detail. It's why the kid being killed in The Toxic Avenger still stands out to anyone that's seen it. So I could see big studios not really wanting to have to deal with the PR that'll surround that.
