This was a TERRIFYING Camp! I've Never Been This SCARED While Camping Before!
I've camped here lots of times since finding this location around 4 years ago but the last two times I've camped here have been really scary!
Since editing the video I've been able to enhance the audio on those scary sounds and I still don't know what could have caused them?
There was a lot of knocking/breaking of branches/sticks throughout the video and even some splashes from the stream next to my camp which I think could have been caused by the wind. This camp spot is located deep in a valley and is protected from the wind and this is the reason I love this site so much (not anymore).
The terrifying gurgling sound I can only describe as the scary noise from the Grudge movie and we don't have any wild pigs in Bradford, West Yorkshire so this is why I think someone was trying to mess with me just to try and scare me.
I've enhanced the audio so you can actually hear what I was hearing as the GoPro only just picked the noises up!
I also seem to have captured something flying by the hammock that looks to have lights on it and four wings???
I have no idea what any of these are so please give me your suggestions in the comment section.
The last time I camped here I heard some different creepy noises that sounded like a child laughing.

Being from the south 2 things i was always taught 1) if the locals dont camp in the area its probably something wrong with it and 2) Dont ever ever ever follow the sounds out into the woods at night. Be it knocking, weird animal calls or crying. Just hang tight and lay low.

Also... If you're ever in a tent and think someone might be snooping around, keep all inside lights off. They'll project a shadow of your body onto the walls, and anyone outside will be able to see exactly what you're up to. I prefer exposure, with no tent. But if I must sleep in one, I hang a dim lamp about 10 feet away from the outside. If someone wants to creep up on me, let those bastards be the ones casting shadows.

a tip could be to add a 2mm paracord in a circle around ur camp in knee height and place metal tins/cans with rocks in them to make clanging noises when something hits it. if you want to take it up a notch attach the string to a claymore explosive to make sure nothing that comes close to ur camp will survive

That was scary, I live in Scotland and you do get wild pigs over Britain. That whirry noise was real creepy, also what stands out was the frequency of branches breaking and sounded like heavy really thick branches, even if there was deer or pigs about, I don't think it would account for the amount of cracking noises heard in that. Even stepping on few twigs branches I dont think would sound like that. Some of comments were American folk on about bears, we dont have bears here or big predator animals, so I am puzzled with all the runcas going on. Glad you survived the night, I would not have made it till morning. 👻

Thanks for sharing your experience. Nice that you showed not all trips can be the perfect trip. Some times camping out of a pack can lead to a rough day. On top of the mess you walked into. I have the same reaction when I come up on a site that has been trashed and trees cut unnecessarily. Plenty of downed wood prime for burning, no need to hack a standing tree down. I appreciate how genuine you were. What ever that noise was would have certainly had me spooked. I’ve never left camp due to unexplainable sounds and happenings but got to say may have packed it in early on that one. It’s just now getting ready to be fall in my area so bout time to get some woods therapy in. Hunting and camping season is here. Much nicer in the cooler seasons to camp. Once again thanks for sharing and be safe out there.

To me it's the sounds you might expect in a wild wood, secluded forest area. Sounded like an animal or animals foraging. Herds of Deer do forage at night and can be clumsy and noisy. Badgers are also noisy (and grumpy) and make lots of weird snorting grunting noises, they are also powerful and will break branches etc - they are also clumsy.... There are also wild pigs and boars in the UK now, and I believe Yorkshire has some too. Those people detecting bipedal steps have good imaginations ;-). But yeah most peoples imaginations would run wild under such circumstances. The fact your dog was fairly calm would suggest it wasn't people or any danger - dogs have an acute sense of danger. My money is on Badgers.

Me and my brother hunted hogs for decades on our family farm (day and night) and much of this noise lines up with what I remember. You have to witness it to believe it, but we’ve had wild boars walk past us ‘knocking’ their tusks - its frightening to hear, until they actually come into sight. Its very loud and sounds like tree knocks. The chewed bark is also a good sign, seems they were after either the bark or fresh growth - pulling branches down in the process which I think is the snapping type noise.

I normally eat what I catch out of the creek or lake depending on which place i go to. My grandpa spent alot of time in my youth teaching me how to fish, hunt, field dress a kill for food, what roots and such to go for, (that wet moss is a good option for storing food in a cool place. I love being in the woods. when i sit down for the first time after setting up camp...its like a full body sigh of relief, no more ppl..no madness..no worries, just me my two dogs having a nap or playing, and the forest noises..and the sound of the water. Nothing better in this world.

This was a fantastic find in my feed, subbed for sure mate. I have no idea as to what could have been near your camp, but there’s something sniffing/looking around the campsite. I definitely heard what sounded like pig/boar, that was pretty clear. And toward morning when you called out loudly, those sounds were not recognizable to me. It definitely sounded like something ran off after you spoke, it sounded big, but ran off like a child with his hand caught in the cake tin. Like a naughty young feral creature of some kind. I honestly don’t think that the cretins what ruined the campsite are capable of being patient enough to play the long-game with you to try and scare you off. Those type of scumbags don’t possess the common sense to pull off such a night long scare tactic. You seem to come out the other side just fine, good on you Grizz. Just stay as safe as you can. Make sure you’re prepared as you always are and you’ll be right as rain. Do you carry a personal locator device at all? On a fun note, your dog is fantastic, the collar-cam is fantastic man. Stay safe and awesome Grizz
