"25 or 6 to 4" is one of my favorite songs. Terry's guitar accomplishment on that song made him one of the best guitarists of all time. Even Jimi Hendrix said he was a better guitar player than himself. Terry's ability will forever be missed. I just wish I was as talented on the guitar as was he. Cheers from eastern TN

I agree! Mtv catalyzed a lot of guitarists' career's, and ommitted other's. Some of the 60's & 70's guitarists' were just as incredible as Eddie Van Halen (RIP), and other virtuoso's of the Mtv generation, and beyond! L/R

Thnx Myra, i just found this , and appreciate you keeping Terrry alive. I had the honor of living at Caribou and becoming a friend of Terry. I was only 18 ish and got to hang out with one the best most humble coolist . fishin, riding dirt bikes, 4 wheelin and just hangin. Forever Terry Kath ❤

(1) On 'Southern California Purples' Terry shows his genius. Met Hendrix who recognised his genius. They were "trading places" as Hendrix was leaning toward jazz & playing with horns; Kath without horns & in his own band to show his guitar work (2)

So many sweet young musicians of my generation destroyed themselves with drugs, Terry was a powerful, dynamic musician and singer at a time when so many young guitarists, steeped in their love of the blues, really got it on and Terry was one of the true elite. RIP Terry Kath.

I was wondering why Chicago didn't perform at Woodstock. They were suppose to be there but had a prior engagement. Too bad they would've really became rock legends and undoubtedly been inducted into the hall of Fame yrs earlier. Basically anybody that was at Woodstock were legends. Santana took Chicago's spot at Woodstock and Santana's career took off.

The original “Chicago Seven” (no pun intended at all) were all what made the engine go. Terry, needless to say, made significant contributions from the get-go, and as another video alluded to, was truly the spirit and fire in the band - his death affected Chicago in ways both tangible and intangible. BTW, it is my belief (again, no pun intended, since Kath along with other members of Chicago, played in a band called almost exactly this) that Terry was the “missing link” between Jimi Hendrix and yet another great guitarist/songwriter we lost way too soon, Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Terry sang ballads too, but he didn't like them since Peter started singing them and he became the focal point of the band. Too much jealousy in that band when the guys should've supported each other, no wonder they eventually started losing band members.

@@dannelson4209 absolutely, Terry was an amazing guitar player. Even though Terry was a baritone he had a better range than Pete. That being said, Pete had an amazing tenor voice but didn't have the range Terry had. One thing people don't talk much about is Pete's bass playing. He is an excellent bass player. He never got the recognition he deserved as a bass player. But then Terry was an excellent bass player as well, not too many people knew that. He played bass on Wishing You Were Here, Byblos and other songs. Terry was multi talented when it came to singing and instruments.
