I would suggest if you like ancient songs of differing cultures, that you listen to some original Native American tribal songs. Your nation was filled with ancient stories told via music for thousands of years before "USA" arrived so to speak. Though after circa 1700 most of them tend to tell of misery, woe, regret, and one day, vengeance against the incomers by angry spirits.
