@@garyrooksby Indeed, it is essentially unfathomable how much unlimited labor can generate in profits. Likely starts with a Q, not a T (maybe over time, a googol?🙂). With AGI and unlimited labor, do we move into a post economic world? With nearly free energy and precision fermentation replacing farming (shout out to RethinkX), what does humanity look like? To be pessimistic, we will probably still have the same religious, raci@l, ethnic, class, etc. grievances/hate we do today. To be optimistic, maybe abundance removes most of these deadly sins? All I know is, Tesla is on track for AGI humanoid robots (with a master neural net brain) that will make today seem like pre-industrial revolution, if not the Stone Age.

As someone who has had bone cancer (osteosarcoma) which has left me with a fused right hand with no wrist movement and a shorter arm, the potential use of the Optimus limb’s as prosthesis with Neuralink in the future is something I selfishly hope they will do.

I am sorry to hear about your cancer. I honestly wish you all the best with your recovery. Don't put your faith in Elon though dude. He is 100% a conman. Optimus is absolutely a scam with really crappy faked videos & Neuralink is a total abomination in science. Optimus cannot do any of that stuff dude. The video is total green screen & CGI renders. Reality is it can't even stand on 1 foot without tethers or bolting it to the floor. It's lamer than robots kids in the 90s made in high school. They released real videos of this only earlier in the year. To believe it went from that to the most advanced robot on the planet in a few months is incredibly delusional. If you actually believe that, then I have some magic beans for you. The only thing they have achieved at Nueralink is killing thousands of monkeys. I mean really f'd up sh1t like they ripped their own faces off. Their greatest success is making a Monkey play pong which others already did 20+ years ago. Do you really want this POS f'king with your brain? Brain surgery is literally a last resort thing. You don't f'k with your brain. For example, my grandma was left as a vegatable when her surgery to remove a tumor in her brain had a minor mishap. I have a niece who has had issues her entire life over a botched brain surgery at aged 3. You really don't want this clowns team of mad scientists diddling with your brain? The company which the other founders & lead researchers left over how embarrassing, unethical & amatuer the company is. It's less legitimate than the Boring company, The Hyperloop & Solar City, which so far were all HUGE scams.

Wireless charging and free (fusion) power will mean bots and cars will be essentially unlimited in range. Power plugs are going to be obsolete in the very near future. ⚡️

You may have just explained the push to unionize Tesla. If I were leading a union this would scare the shit out of me. If Tesla was already unionized I have no doubt that the labor agreement would include limitations on how, where, and when Tesla could use its robots.

This is a good point! The unions though tend to harm themselves and their members more than they help the, certainly in America as the unions (UAW) helped to shut the Fremont factory when it was operated by GM and Toyota as all the union wanted was workers getting paid and not actually working or the factory being efficient. No wonder Elon is not fond of them I do not blame him

That is very likely, as Elon mentionioned in the talk with Sandy Munro, that the Gen two car plant will be different from anything that ever existed in automotive production.

This raises a point I made not long ago. The factory in Mexico will sit on about 50% of the land that Tesla bought. So what the **** are Tesla going to to do with the rest of the land? There are many uses they could use it for such as a race track or a nature trail etc but I think the most likely use is that they plan on building another giant factory right next door. Tesla have form for doing precisely this. They build a factory and then expand it with more phases. I could see a giant factory next door to the EV factory and factory 1 builds the bots and sends them next door to factory 2 which builds the gen 2 car (Model C) built with help from the Tesla bot. Elon did say that the Model C is designed to b built using Tesla bot. So this way Tesla could have and unlimited supply of workers being built right next door that they get at cost but also sell to the rest of the world and make profits on thus reducing the cost for their own bots. If a bot breaks down etc then they literally just grab a new one from the line and put it to work right away as they repair the broken one with no interruption to the production. Tesla also save on having to have an expensive huge storage facility to store spare bots . I could be wrong but I doubt it, be fun to find out though @@user-hq8lb1yv9k

@@taefravis The bots must be produced anywhere, so yes, Mexico makes sense but also Austin and Berlin. China not so much; Tesla transferred a crazy amount of technology to China, they should not do so with Optimus and as I judge Elon, he was very unhappy with the autocratic and often unfair moves from the Chinese government and while he had to comply with the car business, he can do whatever he wants with the bot manufacturing.

Hi Lars, Tesla is going to be able to control through DOJO the cars on the road, the energy in homes and commercial buildings, the logistics or shipping of goods using their semi trucks, and the labor force they will lease or rent to people and companies…You are so right. The modified midriff profile of Optimus is probably optimised for the battery storage. If it’s using 4680s, 6x6 cells looks about right.

The unimaginable value creation lays in a multiplication effect between humanoid robot and ai, both of each alone are extreme value generators, but combined it is unimaginable...... TSLA tock going down 1% after Tesla dropped the video, tells us all we need to know about Wall Street. Anybody clear in his mind who follows Tesla should have recognized that Tesla is now clearly the leader in robotics.

Just wait until *Optimus Prime* does all of the factory _grunt work_ and *Tesla* only has to hire smaller number of supervisors and managers. (Goodbye *Union Problems.* ) I expect that when the *Unboxeed Process* gets deployed in *GigaBerlin* it may use a large number of *Optimus Primes.*

Why 16 hrs per day ? With hot swappable battery packs there would be no downtime unless damaged or maintenance every few months. These bots, especially with a conversational quality AI like Grok, could fill the role of "carer" for our elderly with dementia, a job few humans want that nevertheless costs the family a lot. Even if they cost $20k to buy, which seems high for the materials, a few dozen actuators and a modestly powerful computer, having a bot to take care of you in your old age would save you and the government a ton of money.

As per my other post I wish to add to your good point which is that Tesla bought a wireless charging company which many assumed was for their cars but could be for the bot. Imagine if a bot had to be stood still at a certain station then it could simply stand on the wireless charge pad and work 24/7!

@@taefravis I think its mobility is its best feature, otherwise it could be hardwired and charge more efficient than wireless. Even just standing in one place allows for contactors rather than wireless. Perhaps wireless topping up the battery whenever within range of the charger would allow smaller battery packs, though. As well as making sure Optimus never has enough battery power to run away from home.

Probably was only a coincidence that the stock today added just about 5% or around $ 35 b. just peanuts if we add the incredible growth created to the stock value by the Tesla Dream Team incredible products and productivity every single day. I cannot believe how ignorant analysts are regarding the potential of optimus. Everyone speaks of all the esrthly tasks it will do, but think ofvthe task it will do in space exploration. They can be the vanguards to arrive on planets before humans. A smart bot able to do the same things an astronaut would, without need of bulky life support systems. This could accelerate construction if a moon base and even a mars base.

Does the Teslabot do all its processing using its on-board processor or does it have to be networked via wifi with much of the processing happening on a mainframe? The reason I asked is if it is solely done within the robot, then to use what it learns it must interface with a mainframe later. Conversely, if it is networked the AI could be directly involved in its operations and anything it learns will be reflected in any other robots. My guess is it has to be networked, which is not a problem or complaint, just something I have not heard mentioned.

It operates the same as Tesla's cars do. They are networked but they can operate without a network. let me explain. Each Tesla car is capable of FSD so if you buy a Tesla and buy FSD(full self driving) then the car will be able to drive independently without a network connection. It will though send data back to HQ about its journeys and Tesla then use that data to create a software update that enables the car to perform better and safer. That update is then sent to the car that then uses the information received in the update to drive better and safer. The cycle then repeats itself! The same will be true with Tesla bot. Hope that helps.

Yeah, no. Many of the movements we saw for Optimus 2 were teleoperated. They were showing off mobility and flexibility for the hardware. We have seen nothing demonstrating AI learning. I'm sure they are working out that. But they haven't shown it.

@@whowhy9023 they are working on that. No doubts there. What I wrote, and stand by, is that the demo we just witnessed was mostly teleoperation. Now it's possible they used teleoperation to train the AI the movements they wanted to demo, then the AI precisely mimicked the human input. But teleoperation was used. Which means we did not see Optimus 2 figuring anything out on its own, except possibly for the egg-handling demo and balancing. The dancing, the hand and finger movements, the posing - that was all a human teleoperator controlling mechanical movements. That's okay. It was a physical demo. They showed us new degrees of freedom and precision. I enjoyed the demo. And it's technically true, I suspect, that they are not using much hard-coding, if any. Teleoperation is not cheating. It's just another way to train. If Tesla is using that technique, there's nothing objectionable about it. But it really is premature to gush enthusiastically about what the demo tells us. Most of what's truly important about Optimus has not been revealed to us. Tesla is being very, very quiet about their approach to AI training and deployment. But we learned a few things about advances in the robotic body. Cool beans.

Tesla engineers clearly stated that the sorting of blocks of gen 1 was a task it did on command and which was not pretrained, so it is unlikely they changed that approach..

Great advances in mechanics however they did a good job hiding the actuators in the rear and but it looks awfully clunky. A sleek and powerful robot may be beyond the capabilities the current state of the art.

Imagine the capability of the Tesla Bot in 2 or more years from now given the exponential rate of improvements we’re seeing. I see Tesla’s NeuraLink possibly coming into play in some way, shape or form in controlling many bots in the not too distant future. Imagine a Bot performing not only its assigned task reacting and responding accordingly but also responding to human thought commands. Communication at the speed of thought. That’s surreal and it’s coming sooner than we think.

When requesting/wanting the bots to do tasks or have certain goals, I assume this is a specific heuristic that is programmed for the bots or they are programmed to mimic human actions, or what? Could it either be they just observe and "want" to copy behavior, are they put through training where they discern the desired outcome, do they learn by example and direction, like a child, or does language (an LLM) inform them about the meaning of most things they are asked to do? As with Alphago zero, they (or it, if you consider the neural net the master of all the bots) must be given some sense of the "rules of the game," right?

How does the economy work when a few elites own all the robots that make the stuff, but no one has any cash to buy any of the stuff they produce? The Rich will not capitulate their advantage and will want to remain in the position of power as so will not settle for anything less than a system where they remain on top of the pile, potentially forever from this point on. We are in an uncontrollable slide towards a all powerful central force, and no real thought is being put forward of even potential viable systems where the rest of us fit in. Of course this post is fixing on the wealth that will be generated, and I agree enormous and I think Elon is a breathe of fresh air. But the fact that no real framework is even being discussed when we know that within 10years at most there will be an intelligent system on this planet that has the intellectual capability of a god and we have not even worked out how we are going to get paid for food if the God allows us to even live? Lot there to take in, but is it me or is the silence on this matter an indication that the elites know there is no good outcome for the masses?

@@taefravis yes you are referring to the universal basic income, there have been a couple of trials for this, one in wales I believe? But sadly I think Elon has a blind spot. He thinks other Elites are like him. That the CEOs are happy to at some stage release some of their power over their dominion to the general public at large. Power is only power if you can control people, not robots. Already the WEF and others are painting a very different picture of the top shelve for the future. They want the population to crash, because it saves resources, after all if you are rich and you can live forever you don’t need lots of mouths if you have billions of robots to do the work and they are just eating away. They already know mass immigration stops the native population from breeding, it’s to do with stress indicators. Animals do it as well when foreign species put their resources under stress. Elon thinks that the rest of the billionaires club want to make the world better for us all, his nearly right except for the last word, not “us” but “them”. Elon really does stand alone, and they will take him down just like Nikola Tesla, steal his parents and keep on trucking

It it one thing Tae to make EV cars - by the way they go back 100 years. It is another thing to put on one sided garbage; like there will be usable robots for mass use any time in the next 5 or even 10 years ; or that Cybertruck hasn't fallen short of promises; the original 16% more dense cell won't even bed made- If channels were not just rah rah and were even handed about good and bad news I' wouldn't say anything because I wouldn't have to.

Fantasy land; you all are such dupes. Lets not talk about Tesla's massive fail on Cybertruck and the 4680; lets talk about some rediculous robot that as it is has near zero potential. People can't progam their phone playlist; you think there is anyway they can get a robot to do something complex? If I simply could tell a Tesla Robot to go mow my lawn and it would; I'd be excited because the robot woudln't need a giant series of programming steps to cause it to do the job; but they can't do that. So its of very limited potential. When a Tesla robot can mow your lawn without programming just by command - let me know till then it's a joke. So is 4680.
