You guys raised a really resilient child. To put in so much work into one single company, getting laid off overnight, and then quickly moving on with a new plan... and based on the way you're commenting on other Tesla layoffs, it really does show that you two were parenting well. Props.
@ramonhurt693 ай бұрын
Maybe you should have taught your son how to be more financially responsible with the money he makes and not buy and expensive car before actually owning a home. The fact that you son is willing to sleep in his car before trying to sell his house speaks volumes about his poor decision making skills. It's pathetic that you come on all these videos and mention your son. People sleeping in their cars speaks to the cost of living in California and about the extreme traffic that commuters have to deal with. I also worked at Tesla and slept in my car at times instead of commuting 3 hours to Modesto each day. This is not uncommon. But unlike your son I invested my money into Tesla stock and now don't have to work.

People can go through rounds of interviews only to be ghosted by HR. It's a different world. Jobs want 3-5 years experience for an "entry" level job. I placed an order for a Model 3 Performance, just getting my financing approved, staying in contact with an agent, getting and questions responded to has been insanely frustrating and weird if I am being honest. It seems there is a lot of chaos internally based on the experience I have had Its really concerning, and questioning if I should follow through with this purchase.

Larger layoffs are inherently somewhat brutal, but laying off customer facing employees mid-shift is just bad. That said, car manufacturers and the public were sold the EV Holyland, yet the United States Petroleum Reserve was simultaneously drained to 40 year lows to keep gasoline prices low. I'd say a good part of the EV chaos right now (which shows a few places, not just Tesla) is due to this.

As a corpo myself who's had to lay off nearly 300 people at one time before, there simply is no good way to get a mass layoff done. It's impossible to have one-on-one's with each person, so you're only left with zoom calls and/or emails/texts. It sucks on both sides, I really felt for the people as they were coming up to me afterwards saying "I just bought a house" or "What am I going to do? I take care of my elderly mom!". But at the end of the day, it had to happen to help the company during a rough patch. Thanks for sharing your story and good luck!!

It’s really like a cult, people who worked for Tesla got pretty much abused, terrible working hours, terrible benefits and absolute poor salary, than as a reward for basically giving up on your live those people are still oh Tesla is so great… just like a cult where people worship those you literally abuse them… what’s even more astonishing is that Tesla and other of his companies didn’t even accomplish anything, the product really sucks and is totally flawed, there production setup and workflows are an absolute mess. The fall of Tesla will most likely be as quick as the rise. I work in manufacturing and we are supplying Tesla, Space X and Boring company, I do a lot of field installs on site and I never saw such a messy setup, incompetent work approach and terrible leadership in other companies. I also think the Ex-Tesla employees will have a hard time getting new jobs because in normal manufacturing/production companies where you have real customers and not a cult that worships your product for other reasons than the real product a lot of these people are a high risk… one reason why a lot of these ex Tesla supervisors, leads etc end up as store manager or something like that
