Welcome to the most incredible petrol v hybrid v electric drag race you’ve ever seen!
We’ve got Mat in the all-electric Tesla Model X PLAID, and he’s going up against the Ferrari SF90 and Lamborghini Aventador SVJ!
So let’s see how these three powerhouses compare. Starting with the Tesla Model X, it comes with three electric motors which combine to make an eye-watering 1,020hp and 1,020Nm of torque! But of course, this is a family-friendly SUV, so it’s not light, tipping the scales at 2,539kg!
The SF90 is much lighter, weighing in at just 1,570kg! In terms of power, it’s packing a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled with three electric motors to produce an almighty 1000hp and 800Nm!
Finally, we have the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, which amazingly is the least powerful car in this line-up, with its 6.5-litre V12 able to put down 770hp and 720Nm of torque. However, it's the lightest car in this line-up, coming in at 1,525kg.

I have watched full videos when I do have the time, and you are never boring. Please keep up the great work. I recall the one where you and your friends and crew drove a group of BEVs to compare real world range comparisons, and when you did one to buy your Mom a comparative car of her choosing after test driving a group of them. I’m trying to start up a KZfaq channel on a range of topics especially on automobiles, so you are inspiring me. My son is always watching your vids like when you took a group of used or older vehicles on a competitive off road course. It made me laugh a lot. @@nick_0 That’s not how horsepower and torque work… The sf90 has the same horsepower only at high rpm… The electric thing on the other hand has almost all its torque available instantaneously and the horsepower soon after, it’s about the power and torque curves and the power delivery. Anyway, when people decide that they just wanna go fast but don’t wanna stop when there is something in the road because the brakes are too horrible, they will all buy teslas…

All that tech, hybrid, weight saving, R&D, crazy bhp.......and money..... To beat a 911 turbo S by 0.1 on the quarter mile....on its third attempt I might add. The Porsche bangs out that 10.1 consistently and at what...640hp flat 6 vs 986bhp V8 & 3 electric motors. The Ferrari looks inefficient with its numbers but people are going crazy for it?

0:23 All Plaid models have THREE motors! One motor for each rear wheel and one shared by the front wheels. That goes for the Model X Plaid as well as the Model S Plaid.

These guys are playing people, there’s no explanation for such behaviour. They got roasted on their last Model X plaid video for using winter tires and now they did exactly the same thing. Ferrari and lambo were both on slick tires. I don’t don’t wanna offend them but I can’t believe they’re so stupid not to understand such a simple fact.

The Plaid came straight from Germany where they need winter tyres and there was no time to swap tyres. They could have mentioned that it was on winter tyres but other than that there is no conspiracy theory here.

Yeah. The Model X plaid with the right tires does a 9.6 second quarter mile. So 10 seconds is very slow for a model x plaid.

That model X is definitely still on winters. Hey Carwow it might be helpful to mention which cars have something that either isn’t standard or isn’t consistent across the rest of them. Obviously these are just for fun so it doesn’t really matter, but it would be nice to know just a reference in the future. Anyways loved the video!

Winter tires have great traction. They are softer compound that bite down. Hard to break them loose, so don't lose power from them spinning. That's kinda the point of them though.

quality of production is ok.. but the fake laughing, contrived scenarios and rivalry, and the way cheap promotion is sprinkled througout the entire clip just makes it seem cheesy, cheap, artificial and phoney. a waste of a good opportunity for some more level headed intelligent comparison between the cars in my opinion... They are a bunch of wannabe jeremy clarkson clones, not that he was that great anyway but better than these guys.. the whole clip as usual is just a giant advert for a low qualiy online car sales business.. I probably expect too much from it really.

What’s impressive with the Tesla is the fact it’s a tonne heavier than the rest and it still took the launch and both kept up with the Ferrari and beat the lambo. It’s impressive even if you do prefer internal combustion.

Not really it’s cold in the Uk at the moment, probably an advantage considering the other two cars are on high performance Summer tyres that don’t work in these temperatures.

Guys I love the head to head races you put on KZfaq, but can you PLEASE just quickly clarify things that are important like "stage of charge' and whether your warmed up in drag race mode (or similar features in non-teslas)? These are all important factors that can affect the electric vehicles by HUNDREDS of horsepower and small but measurable 1/4 mile times. Please keep up the awesome videos!

Would try summer tires on the plaid-like on the other cars. Think that makes a difference ;)

But then they could complain about stopping distance and use the trope it has bad brakes. Of course it's utter bullshit because they use the wrong tires, but hey this is entertainment. Also a disadvantage for the quarter mile, the plaid X would have won everything if they all had the same tires, or even the stock tires. Stock tires would have been fair, but Tesla does sell winter tires, but that's not the stock option.

@@timmos184 But the Plaid Teslas really do have bad brakes compared to supercars. They're good brakes for every day use, but bad for racing. Tesla do offer carbon ceramic brakes as an option.

Depends on the temperature, winter tires can outperform summer tires at colder temperatures. But there can be huge differences between summer tires too.

Summer tyres on the Plaid please as the ones fitted are winter ones, this will level the brake test and help it with more traction on launch.

Filmed at the same time with the other video and I’m saying this again for the millionth time. The Plaid came straight from Germany and there was no time to swap tyres for the race. They should have mentioned it was on winters but they didn’t. No conspiracy theories

@@powersurge6878 Not having summer tyres is fine, however not saying that winter tyres could be the reason for differing performance compared to the other two is not. The fact that from 11:10, they jest how badly the Tesla did and having "no idea why it did badly", to me is just poor form from carwow. All they had to do was put something in the description.

If that SVJ should have a chance to beat the model x plaid in the future, it needs an upgrade on power. If it had 1,000 or more hp like the SF90, maybe it’ll stay caught up with both of them or beat them.

Are you complaining about it? Winter tires are softer than summer tires and have significantly more grip. If you use them in summer, they will wear off much faster than summer tires, because more grip means more wear. The breaking distance is the shortest possible and the launch is fastest possible.
