They were Plaids as the LR runs 10.6 at the fastest. Both were unbelievably slow on launch but the first one wasn't that low on battery given the 147 mph exit. The second one launched and exited with time and speed consistent with a 25% state of charge.

@yeetimusputimus1985 yeah, I know. It's a Plaid no doubt. I just saying it's either something wrong with the car or something else (like overheated battery, low SoC, non-cheatah stance...) because it's too slow.

Lol, they had to tell the plaid to slow down I'm sure. They run low 9s. Would easily crush those cars

You need to run the Plaid with a low charge and not in drag/launch mode to get such low times and speeds. Otherwise they will run low 9s (9.25-9.6) when set up correctly.

Well there's not much you can do to modify a Tesla. You can gut the interior and put on better tires but that's about it. You can't modify the drivetrain.

That was also the case with the new Corvette...and the original i6 twin turbo BMWs. The ECUs were locked etc. time will tell how they mod the Teslas. Turning up voltage etc once warranties are expired and people tinker. You could also do as you say and lighten it. Wheels alone are worth a few 10ths from what I've seen on some other cars. Also this has got to be one of the slowest Model S I've seen. Most are lower 9s. Last a bmw i6 is beating all of them with some tuning. That SC300 probably has a solid 40,000 of work into it with miscellaneous blow off valves, exhaust headers, turbos, engine rebuilds etc. stuff gets massively expensive to tune and maintain. @@Jonvon65
