Tesla can get really shady at times. When I purchased my vehicle years ago, my car had red calipers and was listed as a performance model. I got there to pick up the car, it has gray calipers, a missing spoiler, and the salesperson told me that it's a " ghost performance model" whatever that means.

Randy, just dispute it with your bank. You will at least get a temporary refund while they investigate.

Try going back for warranty work with any noise issues. They'll gladly have you drive out your warranty miles to tell you after days that they couldn't replicate the issue. I can't tell you how often I've returned to them for noises. Once, the service tech told me after replacing my control arms that the bump stops on the struts were installed incorrectly. Since I purchased the car from Tesla, the only people who touched it was Tesla. Whenever I return, I leave with the original issue and discover new damage. Speaker issue, door panel damage, oily hand print on the lining (they took care of that one), and now I have rear noise when going over bumps. They are pretending not to hear that now. I have about 8k miles left before the original warranty runs out. They have already tried to charge me once for warranty work. I bet when my warranty is up, They'll finally find the noise to charge me to replace the struts.

It's a known practice that the government has never investigated. I recommend Carmax Randy. I can't guarantee a better experience but they don't have Car salesmen. Reach out to a local news cast in their area, most have a consumer advocate, once you tell them your story they will go to the dealership with a news crew and cameras and you won't believe how quickly you will get your money back. Works Everytime!!

It seems the Travis guy from Tesla and maybe some others are definitely doing a cover up to possibly save there jobs instead of just doing the right thing and refunding your money. I would like to think that this is just a couple of bad employees instead of a company wide problem. Tesla needs to repair the damage and make this right with you and refund your money and maybe give you some supercharging credits or something for wasting all your time. Hopefully someone from Tesla will see these videos and the people responsible for this fiasco will be held accountable.

The Attorney General in my state has a Consumer Protection division. I suggest that you contact the AG in the dealership state to see if they can do anything and find out if other complaints have been made against the dealership. Good luck.

If you end up having to sue them I would sue for 3 times the amount. That way you can get some compensation for your traveling ,court costs and the stress they’re causing you.

Hi Randy! You may want to check your paperwork. Most paperwork nowadays contain a clause were you agree to settle any disputes through arbitration instead of small claims. Also the paperwork will state which state laws apply. In most arbitration clauses it will also state who bears the cost of arbitration.

This goes to show you that you cant trust any car dealer they are out to make money even if thats screwing you in the end

file a complaint with the Kansas attorney general office or what ever state agency controls retail and auto commerce .. You have them committing fraud. You even have Mike as a witness as to what was said on the day you were there. Also approach the local Kansas City television stations and get them on this case.

Hi Randy, I had a similar incident in Canada but it was not Tesla. In 2021, I decided to purchase a used but low mileage Chevy Volt at a Dodge dealership about 7 hours away based on viewing the online pictures and talking with sales person during a phone call. I complete the transaction and loan agreement paperwork by email. This would allow me to easily get temporary registration to drive it back to my province. I travelled to pick up the car the next weekend(7 hours away) however when I arrived and viewed the car I discovered 5 large baseball size dents in the side of the car. I told the sales person I did not know there was dents in the car and this information was not disclosed to me. I advised I would not be purchasing but they said I had already agreed and signed the loan papers previously. I said I was not follow through with the purchase or payments then I drove back home, a 7 hour trip. The only difference was that I hadn’t put any deposit down but I was still worried that I had purchased this damaged car. Not one car payment was ever withdrawn so I guess it turned out ok for me. I learned a valuable lesson to always try to view vehicles in person before purchasing.

Sorry to see what's happening! On the other hand, I 've planned to get a brand new model s long range (base price $75000 ++) from this same dealership. I think, I' m gonna wait and see how Tesla reacts to this problem. And maybe go somewhere else and look for something else. They should just admit their mistake, give you your money back, and hope to sell you another one. It would have been much better for their image!

Randy, I just saw your part II? about your experience with the Tesla dealership. When I was shopping for my Tesla I noticed in many occasions they were using generic pics of cars rather than the pics of the actual car they were offering. To them, salespeople and dealerships, a car is a car while to us, a car is our pride and joy for years to come. We know how smart and manipulative some of them get to just make a business, for that reason, I put it always upon me to do my homework as thoroughly as possible not get tangled up with them or have any regrets. Having said that, being a Tesla enthusiast, I wish you luck and hope you come to a happy ending where both parties are happy.

I foùñd a car online and when they found out I was driving down to see the car, they raised the price 2K after I had left a deposit to hold the car. They see it as you lose $1,500 to use for scaming you. Or you can spend $10,000 at court and probably win, but your only going get $1,500. So in there eyes it let use scam you or spend more money in court to get it back. They know most choose to just let the scam happen.

There are dealerships all over that scam people out here f money. I refuse to buy a car from a dealership for that reason. You do have the evidence to get your money back. I'm in law enforcement in the state of Michigan and that is enough evidence for the refund. I wish you the best

My job recently started offering Tesla option as a company car (which we pay a huge portion, it’s not totally free). I was up for a new car now. I went with the non Tesla option after I saw this video. I hate shady companies. Shame on you Tesla.

I believe you on the dealership has changed the add to screw you out of the money you put down. Have you tried a search that describes the one you ordered? I've found that other sites sometimes screen shots the sales adds for their site and it may have the original sales add still up with the pictures. Well, I thought I was screwed over by them after two 4 hour round trips to the showroom, first time to be told, "the car's not been inspected yet", followed by an hour wait, then "the car needs a part", a subsequent trip despite having an appointment, "the part hasn't arrived yet, come back next week" on the third trip I finally got the car, after asking the issue to be escalated and proposing some free supercharging, "we'll look into it". two months later: nada, no free supercharging. Fortunately, I did get the car I ordered, so that's a good start. Sorry to hear you had an even worse delivery experience, their pre- and post-sales service has definitely gone downhill.

Have you filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau? Assuming they are members it will make them explain this story to yet another entity. How about the federal Consumer Financial Protection Agency? Again it's just forcing them to deal yet another agency which will take their time to respond. Assuming you were dealing with Tesla on State Line Road in Kansas City Mo, try contacting the Missouri Consumer Protection Hotline which is run out of the Attorney General's Office in Missouri. Hit them from all sides and see what happens. Also I noticed at BMW of Kansas City there is a blue 2021 Tesla model S long range with the black interior and yoke that looks EXACTLY like the car you were trying to buy. I wonder if that is it. Finally when you buy cars online like this take note of the VIN number so you can match that up to the car when you physically see it. That will prove immediately if they are trying to shoot you thru the grease.

Randy, I knew from the get go, you had no chance of getting the $1,000 transportation fee back. But Tesla really should do the right thing for the $500 deposit. It's just not a good experience dealing with Tesla when anything goes wrong. Even if it's their fault. Even when you have a vehicle shipped with Carmax, that transport fee has to be paid up front. If you don't like the vehicle when it arrives your only out the fee. I'm not sure why they wanted a deposit. I'd never buy a used Tesla directly from Tesla without seeing it in person first. That's a sad statement. I love my car, but the company has real growing pains concerning customer experience.

That’s how I felt when someone pretending to be Randy scammed me by pretending to be him and saying I won a free car and I lost 800 dollars on shipping and that person deleted everything. Terrible experience , I fought PayPal until I couldn’t anymore . I reversed the charge and PayPal couldn’t take my money. I was so happy thinking that thee Randy was actually texting with me lol

I was just curious on the photos you show the photos to me look like stock photos or just generic photos of a Tesla did you get actually real photos of the car? Because that's how dealerships get people is they'll take a stock photo of a vehicle and it will say in small letters that this is not the actual vehicle.

I agree save the pictures and screen shots. I bought a used Audi S3 from an Audi dealer with Audi's useless Used Warranty. On collection day one of the alloy wheels had damage on it that wasn't in the advert pictures. The dealership parked the car against the showroom front window possibly to hide the alloy damage but they didn't expect me to check the car all over before driving away. One other tip is don't let the garage detail the car as my Audi had been polished by a baboon on drugs so after a hand wash a week after collecting the car the Auto Glym polish washed off revealing hazing in the grey paint on one side. Annoyed wasn't exactly how I felt as I wanted to thump someone.

I would hire a lawyer you have the outside of the car and in the last video you showed the owners manual with the new refreshed interior. Randy, Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO are two separate cities. It would be like calling Norman, OK and Edmond, OK the same city. Now, Texhoma is one city located in both OK and TX. A real rare oddity. I hope this clears up your geographic confusion. BTW, that Tesla dealership that caused you grief is in Kansas City, MO on State Line. The city directly across the street is Leawood KS.

Randy, I would go to the attorney generals office of the state that you were in and/or the Better Business Bureau. Explain in detail to them on what’s going on. Have them watch these videos. That is what I do when I face problems like this and they get resolved immediately. When you do things like that, it gets sent to the highest department. Your problem will definitely be resolved going that route.

Good luck with small claims court. I have used it twice, one was with a person who ran into one of my vehicles and one was with a business. I won both cases but the one with the person I never could collect the judgement because the person had no assets to put a lien against and the business had gone bankrupt and I could not find the owner. The owner did finally contact me through his lawyer almost a year later because she was about to lose her home and had to settle all judgements against her before the banks would refinance her home loan. Hopefully you will have better luck with a large company like Tesla.
