I have a multi meter that beeps around AC. I don't know if it's as sensitive as yours.

I have a sony ccd-trv32 and whenever I insert a test 8mm tape that I recorded 1 minute of it and press play in playback mode (when time is at 00:00:00), I get no image. But when I rewind the tape, the timestamp becomes negative (-00:01:00) and I can watch the recorded video. Could it be dirty heads or something related to that?

@@viniciuswiermann3010 The counter on these cameras is not a real time counter. A few models write time code but the rest just count frames and they reset when you press reset or remove the tape or turn the power off if the internal clock battery or super capacitor us low. If you make a recording and play it back then the camera is working

I hate to say it. I do my best to turn off power, if possible, then quickly brush against the wire to see if i get a shock.sometimes, you have to work live.

@@12voltvids sometimes you have no choice. You have a lamp ballast out in a busy office. I know in Canada they used 357 volt? For lamps be ause you can serve so many more fixtures. I watched the guys swap out a live ballast
