Test between Stockholm and Nyköping on the new Beta 1 of version 5.2.5, focusing on the autonomous driving capabilities.
Circa 70% LCC, 20% ACC and the rest “normal” driving.
Filmed on an iPhone and of course on a closed circuit…

You can also have the navigation map in the center of the drivers screen instead of lane assist if you like. PS: everyone knew Google maps wasn't going to be implemented. It uses TomTom now.

You can also change the left part of the screen by clicking on the splitscreen button (the slider which you use to move from full to 2/3screen is actually also a button)

This way you could select also audio, browser etc.

By the way you could also change the middle part of the driverscreen, you could switch between map and the surrounding simulation

@@chromedesktops i have previously spoken to XPENG about issues and they have been quick to react. I think they try to be actively listening to customer feedback, but the different beta releases point towards an issue with quality control since issues that has been fixed are back a release later.

@@fredriku8071 software issues can be fixed with over the air update. what i fear is a hardware issue. good to know the listen to customers!

Thank you for an informative review! Was hoping for improved maps but TomTom seems like a step back in time.. Google maps would be preferred, really hoping for a future update. Anyways, is it possible to get a satellite view of the maps?

Only the 2024 models have the proper hardware to support Android Auto.

Thanks for this video! Great stuff. Do you know if they have done anything with the power in eco/standard mode? Like a kick-down effect. Slamming on the accelerator in eco is currently yielding very little power.

@@jogex123 I never tried it in version 4.x, however i now almost always drive with the eco mode on. You have to push the pedal all to the floor to get “overtake” effect, but it works really well. Sport mode has become much better. Not so nervous as version 4.x and less “ICE” effect. One pedal drive still no good (comes to creep but not complete stop).

How does the autonomy compare to Tesla autopilot/autosteer? Does it work on single lane roads like Tesla?

@@sanjaygupta666 Hi! I Would say that is still not at par with Tesla, however it is greatly improved in 5.2.5. Breaking in curves is still biggest issue imho.

@@fredriku8071 thank you for your prompt response. I have a Tesla Model 3 & Y and I am thinking to replace them with G6 & G9 when they come to my country this year & next year, respectively. It would be nice if the air suspension on the G9 was automatically geolocated like on the Tesla Model X - maybe someone can suggest to XPeng.

So the navigation part looks really underwhelming compared to Tesla, Polestar etc using Google Maps. Question 1: Is it possible to turn on battery precondition manually, or is it only through the cars own navigation? 2: have you any experience with fast charging without preheat? Is it actually necessary in the summer?

1: no go 2: yes. I did a stop without pre-heating and reached 312kw. Had approximately 12% left when I started to charge. I’ve done the same in winter but then the lack of pre-heating was visible and I think I never went over 250kw during that session.

@@fredriku8071 Thank you so much. We are considering a new G6 instead of our 2023 Polestar 2 LRSM, and the infotainment in Polestar is excellent. We are planning to go to North cape next year, but will be in the summer time. Would then probably be using AA and Google Maps, especially if precondition is not really needed during summer.

​@@Colt16vpreconditioning is not even really needed during winter. Charging starts out a little slower but still way way faster than most EVs.

​@@JajalaatmaarAnd this is because each cell is respected and warmed up when charging... There is a heat pump and everything is done cleverly, even without preparing the battery! It choose a correct program to start charge quite quickly and improved it as soon as it is possible, by changing which cells are being charged fully and which ones are charged partially, and which ones are kept for the next turn of charging ... The charging us adapted continuously for any cell, using very well the battery sensors or temperature 🌡️ and condition of the battery cell... Because of this,Young can offer a very long warranty of 8 years, as most battery brands try to propose. But, for others brands, if the battery is badly used by the car brand, then the car brand will have to assume the replacement of the battery or the replacement of the whole car! The warranty is conditional, not EJFJ Positively Contextualized as it should be, but Xpeng Motors does this with its numerous battery brands to achieve total protection of each atom of any battery cell ... Li Auto and lot of other brands only count on the cable size and the absorption capacity of the battery cells and physical limitations for the speed, by charging each battery cell at the same time making some being used more than others and loosing their efficiency!

Yes, better but not perfect! Strange that you cannot download among a billion voices with accents to choose from, and even funny ones that we could find years ago on Tomtom with strange or swiss accents using local words that we are not used to... You cannot count in Microsoft Corporation for efficiency, you should do better or much better with Chinese collaborators, but with global considerations of local needs... A lot of improvements are noticeable, very good, but this is still far from excellence! More efficient than before, but could still be better...
