With that engine making over 600 HP with just a cam swap this engine would be a great swap for a 71 Ford LTD sedan and combine that with a 6-speed manual swap and man you got you're self a modern day Gator mobile from a 1973 movie White Lightning.

Well the motor itself is priced Right but how much is the controller? The only one I've seen so far was over $3,000 and there was a bunch of other stuff such as the fly by wire gas pedal that really pushed it over for Grand. Then there's the cam change to get some decent power how much does that cost? So you can get the motor for about seven Grand but it looks like you're going to have another 7 into it easy. What do you say to all that? Thanks for the video

Interesting...on any conventional old school pushrod engine such as a 5.0 or FE..you can rotate the cam to push lifters to top side but... as the cam moves and or rotates and raises the lifter, The lifter will come right back down and contact the lobe and obstruct...or worse yet once the cam is partially out the lifter will fall straight down into the cam tunnel area in most cases, which would mean in old school terms pulling the intake off to correct for obstruction... so why is it different in this case? or did I miss the details you were saying?...btw if you dont mind me asking what tools are you using here in terms of sockets and new OEM required tools for diss assembly?..are we talking US, Wentworth, Metric..? or a combination?
@grimey4life5 Жыл бұрын
I know it has been awhile but I just saw your comment and figured I would answer your question. The 7.3 Godzilla engine uses plastic lifter holders that prevent the roller lifters from rotating and damaging the cam. There is just enough friction between the holder and the lifter that you can rotate the cam and the lifters will stay in their up position when the pushrods are removed. Ford actually first used this setup in the 90's on the 5.0 explorer engine
