@@VeeTwoPointOh the little green pipes can close at the end so that you can pour only 5 or less shots instead of 6. However, since you are closing them at the end, the alcohol will stay in the pipes. So will it be wasted? If you pour a different type of alcohol, will it get contaminated by the old one that stayed? Do you have to lift the entire contraption and haphazardly try to pour it back into the bottle pipe by pipe? Sounds like a pretty big design flaw that went unnoticed.

The shot dispenser needs a redesign. It needs a plunger/plug in the center and fill lines on the side for the # of shots you intend to pour. As a non-drinker, I was fascinated by this. I purchased a refrigerator that would produce these round ice cubes (not this large, and no...I didn't purchase the refrigerator solely for this, I truly enjoyed the size and other features, but I also don't enjoy watered down non-alcoholic drinks) but it turns out I was a bit duped by a big box store and got the wrong model (they knew this). But it wasn't worth the fuss to replace it (I was not charged for the more expensive fridge so no harm no, foul). I really don't need craft ice often enough to have justified the upgrade either. And I also realized Distilled water is the way to go. I bought a smaller set of these ice ball makers and have them when needed (soda isn't good watered down). But that shot glass deal was fascinating. Glad you figured out a technique there. As for the shaker deal, it could be a great gift for someone who travels a lot and brings powdered drink mix on the road a lot. Good idea for business friends or even pilots if you know any. 💯💯💯

I would think that any silicon cup cover would work just as well as the shaker, at least to mix any powder into a liquid. You should do a comparison between the AnyShaker and a regular silicon lid and see if there is really any difference. The shot dispenser would be useful if it actually measured the quantity into each cup so that you dispensed an actual 'shot' in each glass. As it is, I don't see much real use for it. I love the ice ball maker, though, but I would just make my own distilled water by boiling it instead of buying it.

Good to learn distilled water works best for making clear ice. I followed a YTr make ice using tap water and the ice came out clear. The only problem was it takes a lot of work; you needed an ice cooler, because you can only make a block of ice. Had to leave the water in the freezer for 24 hours but not long enough that it freezes solid, then you have to cut the ice and usually there was always water that would spill out. I have a ball ice mold. I’ll buy distilled water to see if I get the same results. Great review and thank you.
@SilvaDreams2 жыл бұрын
Well you want to use distilled water anyways if you are using it for drinking good liquor because tap water will have impurities like chlorine and other trace elements that can make it taste different.. You don't want that being added to your good booze. (for soda who cares, you'll never notice) Most bars have water filter systems (and many soda machines) so it's not an issue for them.

Clear ice: Starting with boiled water is your easiest strategy for clear ice. If you have good municipal water, cloudiness is more likely to be attributable to trapped gas. Boiling releases trapped gas. Hot tap would have less gas, too. (if you live in LA, industrial level filtration would be required. 🤪) Bonus fact: The chemical reaction occurring as the gas leaves is why people think hot water tastes flat.

Interesting reviews, thank you! I fill up small clean water bottles 1/2 filled with spring water and freeze them, but noticed white floaty bits swimming around (the bottle was clean), so I ended up tossing it. But I grew up in Saratoga Springs, NY, with the best spring water in the country, so I know thawed out REAL spring water doesn't do that (unless perhaps you get the 2nd kind of spring water available there and I never noticed white floaty bits, but it smells strongly of sulfur and never really used for drinking). There are 2 springs tapped at the State park where the springs are available to the public. So I bought a bottle of Fiji water and am only freezing that now. The ice ball is amazingly simple, yet not widely used. And I loved the stretchy top mixer dangly thing too, lol. I absolutely love ice and Christmas AND my birthday are coming 😉, def adding all of these products on my wish list 😜🎂🎄👍.

You can buy large (5-10L) bottles of distilled water, usually that's very good quality (and much cheaper) I use it in my appliances (iron, steamer) to avoid deposits building up. Also when it comes to any bottled water, it pays to dig into where the actual source is. Many companies use plain tap water (Fiji doesnt, nestle and pepsi usually do) and market it as spring water or whatever marketing words. Distilled water has to be actually distilled, and also very useful to have a couple big water bottles for emergencies (or water main work) 10L bottles often have a tap (like a wine cask) so it's easy to pour out a small amount. Also it stays "fresh" for a long time because there aren't impurities like tap water
