Mechanical fuel level sensors especially in older machines tend to get funky with readings due to a variety of factors. How do you test and service these? Watch and find out!

Great video. I have an issue on my 88 VFR 750f where it only shows half full no matter how much fuel is in it. I'll try to get that fixed and this video helped a lot. Thanks

Digital meters have a sample rate which on the cheaper ones can be fairly low so you can get some funky readings on a potentiometer. A cheap analog meter is a better choice for testing something like this if you get a jerky sweep of the needle there is an issue if the needle moves smoothly in relation to your movements you are golden.

100% agree. Should have mentioned that. What I’ve done is tested enough so I can tell funky readings vs malfunctioning potentiometer. I should pick up an analog unit when I see one at a swap meet or something.
