You said the magic words at 0:30. You want low output and high input impedance because that's a voltage divider. Crystal clear now.

Thank you ! Excellent Video. Can we use RLC meter (in serial mode) to mesure output impedance when the device is off ?

I have a problem at collegue when I try measuring current to obtain the experimental impedance of output and input of amplifiers (BJT's, MOSFET, Pair Darlington, Cascode, etc.). In many occasions this current is very small and my digital multimeter is not able to measure it. What can I do? Thank you so much. greetings from Mexico!

All these technical videos and me with ADD can't focus so i'm just scouring for an answer to my question, so I'll ask it here because you seem pretty smart. How can I measure the final output impedance of a tube audio amplifier? Not the output transformer, but the final impedance? Is this determined by the transformer?

can you show how to do the same using an VNA ?

I have pressure sensors that output a voltage (0-100mv DC), with an output impedance (990 ohm - 1010 ohm). For calibration, is there a way to simulate the sensor? I have a constant voltage/current source (0-100mv), but to simulate the output-impedance part, I assume it's not as simple as putting it through a 990-1010 ohm resistor.

100mv through a 1k resistor should do the trick

I wish he would have explained the connections between the meter and bread board and etc better. he went kind of fast for me.

Why do u say output impedance when in reality it's output resistance your in DC mode with that 5v I'm i right?

You measure loading resistance not impedance

Ridiculous method. Set power supply to arbitrary voltage (say 1 - 4 v). Measure open circuit voltage. Attach power supply leads across 100 ohm pot. Dial down potentiometer until measured voltage is one half open circuit voltage. Remove pot and measure resistance. That is your output impedance. If you're dealing with an older power source (say an old function generator with higher output impedance) then start with a 1 K pot.
