that redstone block is just like magic

The first trick is called Quasi-connectivity. Quasi-connectivity is a property of dispensers, droppers, and pistons that allows them to be activated by anything that would activate the space above them, no matter what is actually in that space. While quasi-connectivity can be difficult to work around sometimes and might seem like a bug, it is officially recognized as a feature that "works as intended" and does make some builds much easier (for example, piston walls). "Quasi-connectivity" means the block's activation is quasi-connected to the space above itself ("quasi-" means "seemingly" or "apparently"). Quasi-connectivity can be abbreviated as QC. Other terms used for this property include "connectivity", "piston connectivity" (as the property originated with pistons), "indirect power" (but that term is also sometimes used for activating mechanism components with an adjacent powered block), and "BUD-powered" (although quasi-connectivity and block update detectors are not synonymous).

The tiny end portal hack can work without a piston. Just create a normal end portal, then destroy the frames and 8 of the portal blocks, then put one end portal frame on each side and put an eye in each of them, and BAM, you got a tiny end portal.

For the small endportal, just make a big one, remove the blocks and the end portal things you can go through and leave the middle. Then, place end portal blocks around it, and boom

for the first one, i believe its cuz technically a piston is 2 blocks when activated, i guess its a bug that mojang decided to make into a "feature"

The reason the redstone block can only power the piston through thin air is because when Mojang added pistons into Minecraft they just copied the program for a door and pasted it for pistons

The "Wireless redstone" is only exclusive to pistons (and other stuff but i forgot which ones) also its called Quasi-Connectivity
