I would consider getting another one in the house but I like having this one here so there’s no interruption to some of the cameras to at least keep a couple going having it in the house would be nice for the Wi-Fi but the cameras that get power from generator will still record everything you just won’t be able to view it until after the Wi-Fi comes back that is one of the advantages of not using cloud storage

Thought so at first too but I now don’t think Frequency is the problem as I adjusted the throttle on the generator to get to sit right around 60 Hz with a lot of load on it it’ll drop to about 59 but it’s still very close to 60 and the problem is still there

@@nics-systems-electric true. if it was at 59 hz then the light would turn on and off every second. half second on and half second off. it could be that the generator is not putting out a sine wave

@@J19_vlogger74 I really don’t think frequency is the problem as I’ve seen light run perfectly fine off 54 hz

@@nics-systems-electric that's what i was saying. if you had it running on 59 hz, it would literaly turn on and off on and off if frequency was the problem, it might be that the power is "dirty" [not putting out a pure sine wave]. things can have problems even if they running at the proper frequency if the wave is not pure

@@nics-systems-electric ok, but also when those are detected make a dedicated amber strobe outside of that tiny shed so you know immediately it is a problem indicated specifically in the shed! There would be relays and zones involved but it would be kick ass!

There is a paddle inside the pipe that gets pushed once the water moves through it once a sprinkler head activates that paddle is just a switch that will close the circuit and it will set off the fire alarm system that is monitoring it

Yes as it’s not a standby generator so somebody has to start it it’s helpful to have emergency lighting to go out there and started anyways so you’re not trying to start it in complete darkness

Everything seems good with voltage around 124 is where it likes to hold and frequency is around 60 and with heavy load will drop down to 59 which seems reasonable I don’t see any reason why the shed would affect anything and I have checked Frequency with it outside of the shed when I took it out to make adjustments with no differences

My thoughts the machine isn’t designed to run in a confined space with a fan pulling air out. The machine is designed to run in the open with minimum restrictions.

@@dennywires I don’t see any reason the confined space would affect it especially when there is airflow it’s no different then standby generators that are inside of a enclosure of some type I have tried it outside and it has not made a difference

Doesn’t matter if your power source is a AC adaptor or batteries put together as long as it’s somewhere in between 12 and 24 VDC take your positive from your power source to the positive terminal on the Notification device and connect the negative from your power source to the negative terminal on the smoke detector and connect the positive of the smoke detector to the negative of your notification Device

@@nics-systems-electric It seems difficult because 2-wires dont have a normally open connection separate if the device uses a different VDC rating. I'm not sure how to have the smoke detector power a relay though. Mine blinks occasionally as a two-wire so I'm not sure if adding a transistor at the end of the circuit to power other notification alarms may be triggered even though the unit is not activated.

​@@user-hc5sd8sn9y 2 wire smokes usually are for current limited circuits since it shorts itself when it activates. I don't think I would waste a good smoke detector to test that though.

Yes I don’t intend on using the pickle 700 name anymore I would rather go with something a little more professional that makes more sense I did a vote on it and most wanted it to be nic’s systems and electric

Yes I have looked around for something with no luck yet I only plan on adding a smoke and heat detector in the generator building as I don’t care about CO as no one‘s going to be occupying the building it has co shut down built into it anyways

@@nics-systems-electric True that. And, if the generator shut down unexpectedly and unexplained, and you know that it's not fuel or oil, then you know that it has to be CO. Generators are required to have built in CO shutdown detection. That being said, putting a CO detector in the generator building is silly and pointless. You might be able to tie a shut off switch into your fire alarm system to shutdown the generator in the event of a CO leak. But I am not sure how you would do that. If you ask around, you might find an AC line cleaner or something. But, dirty power can damage computers and computerized equipment like alarms, access control systems, TV's, and other computerized equipment over time...I am pretty sure.

@@chadrowland5234 Yeah that’s what I’m worried about I’ve done a lot of looking around and haven’t found anything so I’m thinking about selling the generator and buying a different one

@@nics-systems-electric I would recommend using an RV generator. They're known as inverter generator. They are much quieter and more reliable than the open frame generator. And, the RV generators just barely sip gasoline so you'll get like a couple of days of run time as apposed to 16 hours so, it'll pay for itself in the first or second, maybe third outage. But, I may be wrong. And, RV generators are much quieter so your neighbors will thank you for that. I once worked somewhere that had travel trailers in the parking lot for a ball game and they were using a contractor generator and I swear that you could hear it from Arkansas. It was ridiculous. They truly are obnoxious. Using an RV generator will be much quieter and your generator building will do an even better job with sound reduction. I once stood by an RV generator and was actually able to have a conversation without yelling. So, using an RV generator will be able to be used for more situations than just emergencies. And, most important, RV generator will put out clean power. Which will prove beneficial for computers and computerized equipment like alarms and access control. Something to think about. I use an RV generator for emergency usage to back feed my house for those very reasons.

@@chadrowland5234 Yeah they’re definitely quieter and will put out cleaner power I’m just having a hard time finding one that’s going to be large enough as I want to be able to have something that will be able to keep everything going including heat the biggest one I’ve been able to find was an 8000 w 6500 running w it’s just that it’s energizer brand which I don’t know how good they are as it’s hard to find reviews

Because the exhaust is very hot and needs It’s dedicated pipe right in line with where it comes out of the generator otherwise it would completely melt the insulation possibly starting a fire it creates a ton of heat so exhaust fan is only intended to pull cool air through the building for whatever heat is generated from the generator engine and generating motor which is a much less than the exhaust
