Man I really wish you could get the 2400w in the new HD models. Would be great to power a camper. Oh well the 2000w will still be nice

I am right there with you. I would love to have it on my 22 F450. It would really come in handy towing like you say and also just traveling in general. I can always find a use for it.

Good video and glad I found it. Been looking at adding this option to a new truck vs having dual alternator and dual battery. After watching this I am going dual battery dual alternator. Sounds like a great option in theory but the numbers just don’t add up. I can run the same items you were running on a 400watt 12 volt power inverter for $40. Using the power inverter will run for a short time without the truck needing to be on. For the same price or less I can get a inverter generator with 2200 watt and only uses gas to fire one cylinder instead of 8 cylinders and is even more portable. For the same price I can get a much larger generator and once again it uses less cylinders so I am going to assume that it is still more fuel efficient, not as portable, but can get up to 11,000 watts. Only benefit that I can really see with this setup is it is harder for someone to steal vs the other options.

Hey there Dr. The 7.2kw isn't an option on the raptor even on ford.com.

Only on the powerboost hybrid. Which you cant get on a raptor

yeah thats a good point. Only the lower end one that I have is the option for the raptor. Maybe they will fix that in next versions because it is nice to have and more people than you think use the raptor as a daily.

My gen 3 2022 doesn’t have the pro power on board but it has the trail turn assist instead, how can I get the pro power on board to show up on the features?

Pro power onboard is a factory installed option. You may not have the equipment installed so I would check with your ford dealer. It was a $1,000 option at the time.

2000 watts just doesn't get it. Plus I don't like to have to use gasoline to generate electricity. I'm obviously a lightning fan, 9.6 kw of pro power without using any gasoline.

Oh yes for sure. I agree that is the best option for sure. This is way better than having nothing though when you are needing it in a pinch or it's all you have. The lightning for sure isn't for everything. In towing with the lightning I got less than 100 miles range and that WILL NOT CUT IT for me.

@@TorqWorks totally agree with the lightning not cutting it for towing. I have the lariat with the 2000kw it works great. I boon-dock with my trailer and it powers pretty much everything in the camper. Not sure how good the EV’s will handle the power outages that are currently happening.

I think the EV will help with the power outages, I used mine in the truck I have to power my tankless water heater, just of the ignition of the pilot and a few small things. I know the EV is way more powerful.

Best of both worlds the Powerboost. It has so many uses. Overlanding is it's hayday.

I've seen the new Lightning and having owned an original Lightning, only word that comes to mind is insulting. definitely Fords feeble attempt to become a member of the new religion. Don't forget to put on your mask.
