Today we will be testing out some new clay! I am NOT getting paid for making this video, but I did receive some free clay and tools! My opinion is 100% honest, it really is a good starter clay.
Check out Hippie Crafter's shop here: www.hippiecrafter.com/
Or their Amazon store here: amzn.to/3pvWBLe
Thank you all for watching! I hope you enjoyed the video, and I will see you all in the next one on Friday!

In art class in elementary school our teacher would use that long wire thing to cut clay. But they would buy it in bulk so they came in these giant rectangles, so it made sense

The metal one and the “beak” are scrapers. They’re used for smoothing out large areas of clay. Most often used in traditional clay sculpting.

Ahh that makes more sense that it isn't for polymer clay

that's pretty cool! I love the amount of tools you got, but I think I agree with you on the size/colours of the clay! I usually need a lot of white, especially if I want to mix colours as well.

No bubbles after baking? I'd give this clay a chance just because of that. I always wanted to try monster clay, have you heard of it? I normally use fimo (because it's easy to get where I live) but my fav is still sculpey.

I haven't tried flat sheets yet, which is where I usually get bubbles, but it seems pretty good so far! I haven't tried monster clay, but I have seen it used before. I don't do super realistic stuff so I can't say I would have a use for it though.

I *think* the "eagle beak" is used for smoothing surfaces and the "knife" I believe is a trowel which I guess you would only use if working when applying actual clay. I had the same set of large wooden tools, sponge and cheese wire bought for me many years ago and they are intended for regular pottery clay, not polymer clay.
@Kerobyxclay
@Kerobyxclay 2 жыл бұрын
Yea that seems to be the theme of what people are saying. I guess it doesn't say polymer clay tools. So it's more of a general usage kind of clay tools.
@MiniKawaiiWorld1

The metal oval one is a scraper. But you can use the tools w your imagination. The tools have many options on how to be used. They even can be used one aor dry clay..pottery clay and wven to use for nails. So the possibilities are endless.

@@Kerobyxclay Maybe like the Super Gameboy, where you had SOME colors, but it was very limited so the entire would would be saturated in the five allotted colors. Could do a Wario Land scene of all purple shades. (I only remember Wario Land and being able to change the colors.)

The arrow tool, and most of those plastic ones, are used for the mokume gane technique of clay. It makes really amazing designs, but I mostly see it used for jewelry and slabs used to cover glass.
