LOL. That is actually my exact set up. I haven't had that many different 22lr brands through my RPR, but I think the cci standerd velocity is the biggest bang for the buck. I agree this set up will be a great training tool for my family 👪.

Good Vid! I finally pulled the trigger and got a Ruger RPR in 22lr about three weeks ago. I put a Burris 4.5-14x42 on it. I do have some higher end ammo that I shoot in my Bergara B14r. Long story short; with the Ruger I was getting some super groovy groups with good ol' CCI Blazer and CCI standard velocity Target. Did it shoot slightly tighter groups with Lapua, SK (three different kinds), and Eley? Sure; most guns do. But not by much. I even shot Winchester Super X, Rem Golden Bullet, Federal American Eagle red box, and Federal blue box stuff. All shot very small groups at 50 yards. I then started shooting ground squirrels out to 143 yards with the CCI. I can really appreciate the Ruger RPR accuracy and that it is not picky about ammo. I got a keeper.

I learned a system to reember which way toadjust your sights/scope. I don't know what it's called, I just call it the "Right Hand" meathod. Using the thumb of your right hand point it the way you want to move your bullet hit, your fingers will tell you which way to turn your sight/scope adjustment.

6:45 time. I know people that sub sort their .22lr ammo. First by total round weight. Then by rim thickness. Allegedly, it works.... I haven't gotten to that level of OCD yet. 😅

The Remington Golen Bullet is sold in 1400 round buckets. The bullets are 36 gr hollow points in the buckets sold at Walmart for $85. It cycle more reliably in my new Winchester Wildcat and CMMG 22LR conversion kit in my AR15 than did Federal Auto Match for the first few range trips. It cycled fine in both at my last range trip. I did not check groupings yet.

On each Target you should list the grain and fps of each round

RWS is a German company, „Rheinisch Westfälische Sprengstoff-Actien-Gesellschaft“ none of my .22 rifles like the stuff. My go to brands are SK Rifle match, SK standard plus, Geco Semi auto for matches. And Eley sport for training.

It could be worse: Running that ammo, in a semi auto, with a binary trigger, loaded in a 100 round drum magazine. 😅

Reading about the RPR in other forums I see some recommend SK Long Range Match, Eley Tenex (expensive), Lapua Center-X, CCI Green Tag (some positive and some negative reviews), SK Long Rifle Match (red box), Norma Tac-22 Match

My RPRR dialed in at 24 power, I ran a bunch of ammo also. Not gona spend 25 to 30 bux a box. What my shooter really likes is that CCI Standard V. Amazing groups starting out with a clean barrel. Always "the dime".... bore snake every 100 rnds. If you use auto match alot it does darn gud at 35 & 40 yrds. CCI does better than even the Norma Tac 22 for me. Takes about 20 rounds before the Tac 22 starts to perform. Good review, like to see others grouping with the RPRR. Squirls aint got a chance too !!!

Hey Eagle, this just popped up in my feed...wow, 50 MOA in your base and rail, how for are you going to try pushing this rifle? I think it'll be fun to see. I probably should look into one of the Ruger Precision 22 rifles because 22 ELR matches seem to be getting much more common around here.

The CCI I think is the most reliable I shoot a 200 m competition with it and I do pretty good

Goes to show which ammo one’s barrel likes the best…. 1422 anschutz (46 years old) with cci standard at 50 yards can give a fly a bloody nose.

You should get good results from the Eley Match. Tenex can be better but both come off the same machines and are tested to select which is which. Your barrel might like the stuff that Eley class as inferior... (mine does). Also R50 - the slower version of R100. Excellent ammunition. My barrel loves R50 but hates R100. And another worth trying would be Lapua Centre-X. Midas is also good but X-Act is probably only worth it if you batch test and are very serious about competition.

perhaps having scope remounted would be helpful, the gap on the rings indicates scope is not set right , also you do not an addition mount with more Mao adde4d as stock rifle has 30 Mao built in

I have the Arken SH4 Gen 2 4x16x 50 mm & the EP5 5x25x56. The EP5 has Japanese glass and is brighter & has a more defined picture. All Arken scopes are really nice & built like a tank. I like "Heavy". BTW Good video. If you haven't discovered it by now, your trigger is adjustable down to 2 1/2 pounds. The amount of after market gear available for the RPR is a lot. I have one in 22 lr & 22 mag. each weighing 15 1/2 pounds & 16 1/2 pounds respectively. Weight adds stability which lends itself to greater accuracy. It's like shooting the "Big Boy' center fires without the recoil & high ammo cost. My RPR in 5.6 creed weighs the same as my 22 mag. I like the smaller calibers better....More fun.... 22 mag is my favorite. Hand sanding your bolt down to a 2000 grit level, & running Pen Reel Grease on it, makes the bolt run like the highest end guns. Plus, try fitting a large Limb Saver Deresonator over your bolt handle and notice a huge difference in smoothness. Looks a little unorthodox but works like a champ.

I shot the same model but I bought Ruger’s American Rim Fire instead. Tomorrow there will be an upgrade to the factory stock...the last changeover will be done. The bolt handle (Anarchy Outdoors) the trigger (Timney trigger) scope base (A/O). I mounted Vortex Viper PST 5-25x PRS reticles. The rifle cost $370.00 the scope cost $800.00. The gun is just for fun!

I am a firm believer in weight sorting.I used to also check rim thickness but stopped because the accuracy gains were negligible. Sorting by weight however is a totally different story,.one of my best shooting ammo's is cheap Aguila SE standard velocity lead round nose. One other thing about accuracy stay away from any HV ammo. Anything over 1130 fps which is what that Aguila is will never group well. Weight sorted that Aguila shoots as well as SK rifle match that is 3x more expensive. I run a site on MeWe called 10/22 Builders Group with some of the most knowledgeable members on .22LR ballistics I have ever met. You should check us out we're not just 10/22 but every 22LR made right up to Vudoo and Rimx full customs.

When you have so many minutes of adjustment in the base you’re using the scope so close to its optical edge I wouldn’t think it would be very sharp there.

If you want to shoot best groups or small targets at 50 or 100 yards, then 24x is waay too little. Serious bench rest guys are using at least 40x

My CZ 457 American beats all of these groups with the Federal Auto-Match. Depending on lot. It loves this stuff.

I wouldn’t worry about that level too much. What’s level to the owner may not be level to a different shooter. It’s all in the way each person shoulders the gun. I had a buddy who purposely canted his reticle to the right because he shouldered his gun with a bit of a left cant. As a 30 year surveyor I couldn’t stand to shoot that gun😂😂 After looking through precision instruments most of my life I can spot an unlevel reticle in a second. But like I said, it’s unlevel to me, not the owner. Great groups Eagle, enjoyed the video.

Give me the rifle that shoots the cheap stuff into tiny clusters. I have a few of them. Especially the Federal Automatch. Your rifle just doesn't like it. That is pretty sad.

Once you know that bucket ammo is made with the machines cranked up to max output your expectations on the performance will drop .

You need a wheeler scope leveling kit brah. Don't trust your eyes😂 ....... I know it's just rimfire we're talking here but consistency is key on all you firearms. Lapping recommended depending on quality of scope rings too. All could be had for under 140 bucks.. Unless of course you're dealing with multiple ring/ scope tube sizes...
