Well that was quite the first run with my new Gray SCX24 Bronco. I unboxed it and removed the roof rack and spare wheel to test the capability after removing some upper weight. I took it to Crawler Space RC in Grand Rapids, MI to run it and poof...the ESC went when I plugged the battery in for the first time. Luckily, Dave had some available in his shop and I got it fixed up to test it. It is one of those freak things that can happen. I still highly recommend this RC. I have 3 other Broncos that have performed great out of the box.

Totally agree, show the good and the bad stuff. That's real world RC action! Thanks for the info about the new ESC combo being so much smoother, I have the OG Deadbolt SCX24, might sway me to buy a newer model. :) Gladiator or Bronco...

Even the V2 Jeep has the new electronics. The C10 and Deadbolt do not currently.

I’m starting to learn it doesn’t matter what brand RTR stands for Ready To Replace! My last trip out I had 2 main gears go out & a original servo freeze up. What concerns me is one is a new Losi Lasernut on its 4th time out the gear just stripped right out. I do love upgrading but things like the gears should all be metal. It doesn’t do any good to have a 600$ RC that can’t run because of a stripped out gear & while I should ask for a warranty replacement I’ve already purchased a metal replacement because they would just sent me an original which apparently is junk.

The first upgrade should be a real battery charger. I use the ToolkitRC M8S the joke of a charger in the box is guaranteed to start a lipo fire!

Interesting to know the esc goes out I still have the stock motor and esc on my jeep no issues.

I thought about stripping mine but really liked the way it looks. I just added metal wheels, brass diff cover, and 3 nickels on top of my servo and it works pretty good. Can't wait to upgrade further.

I have one that I kept everything on but the spare wheel/tire. I added weight down low as well.

you can stuff two AA batteries on top of the servo for more weight

That is an awesome place. We need that where I live haha. I know my Betty is stuck going g reverse when I'm not on the throttle. But only on the fastest setting. It's weird.. I'll build up my gladiator soon, and I know where to go. I agree. Show me the problems. Great video man. 😎👍👍. My Betty came with a bent shock. Horizon sent me 4 new shocks. Things happen. That's life. I so love the bronco.

Horizon Hobby is outstanding at making things right when a problem arises. I did the same mod to my blue Bronco and it crawls much better. Did you add larger tires? They look larger than my stock. I tried modifying mine and it does not respond well at all. Much better stock with the upper weight and spare removed. I tried 56mm tires and 43mm Injora shocks and it was horrible. Went back stock and it’s much better but not nearly as good as the C10, JLU, or Gladiator. The new ECS is way smoother. Good video thank you!

I really want to build a course with similar material, I saw a mesh there so I am just curious if the terrain was molded or formed with plaster or something and then gravel and rock added? I want to use dirt but I am not going to use it indoors, so I really want something similar like this but what is if exactly?

Did you eliminate the stock esc/receiver and use after market receiver/controller? Mine smoked and can't find out if you can use my own rx/tx with the lizard pro.

I did, I'm using the 6 channel Radiolink transmitter and receiver with the lizard pro. Did this on my 2 scx24's. The V2 combo that comes with it will not work with the lizard pro. Channel 2 is output only.

You can use your own RX/TX. The lizard pro has a typical receiver plug

Wow you know I got the same exact one and the ESC did the same thing. I think there is issues with that type of ESC because they are out of stock every where.

I just got the same pro line tires Hyrax, they won’t mount up to the Treal rims I could turn the tire all four of them spins around the Rim bummer

Hi, I'm new to this and I've been given a scx24 Bronco. Is there anything that tells you that the car has little battery left? To damage the battery, how long is it advisable to use it to charge it? Thanks a lot

The lights will start to flash when the battery gets low and you’ll notice reduced power.

Mofo torque beast is a good one just depends on if you want more torque or speed 😉
