Hi! These lenses are pretty damn cool, and considering the price, these feel like the go-to Anamorphic lenses (on a budget) of 2024. The set I'm using is PL mount and has Amber flares.
Blazar is NOT paying me... I bought these lenses with my own cold cash.
If you have any questions, comments or want to say something positive please comment below, I will respond to ALL of them (I promise!)
Diopters I use: amzn.to/4bAWVPY

@@findingefilm hah! All good dude! I know, I posted a long friggin video! Yeah I totally agree, I wish they would add that in. I actually show with it WITHOUT the monitor and just used the cameras LCD… it’s still workable but you’re obviously looking a funky unsqueezed image, but it’s doable! 🙃

Thanks for the video! I'd be interested in seeing them mounted vertically to get the more square format out of 16:9. I'm sure you've seen the video, where you turn the camera sideways and mount the lens facing the new up direction. Would love to just see the difference in FOV between the three lenses mounted that way! 🙏

I love that the whole 12 minutes of video is recorded using the Remus lenses. A lot of reviews just have like a tiny bit of b-roll that looks cool but you cannot see the whole thing. Thanks for making this video!

Thanks for sharing your take on these. Nice to see them in someone else's hands! These things get really nice over T5.6. The flares come alive, sharpness is really good. You just gotta feed it more light.

Awesome examples of the Blazar Remus lenses. Real world usage! Nice job. I am considering these vs the great joy 1.8. I do like the remus more, but i am afraid of the softness and CA issues at wide open.

I am very excited for these lenses! If I can find an excuse to buy the 65mm this year I totally will! I've seen that the softness on the 100mm cleans up nicely if you shim it following the blazar yt channel.

Man thanks for sharing! Excited to get these soon. 2x is probably better used on 4:3 sized sensors, 1.5x is great for the majority of sensors. Open Gate I believe they call it.

Thanks George! I just put a link in the description for the ones I used. I recommend +1 or +2 for closeup shots, but always good to have +4 and +10 in the event you need to get SUPER macro! Hope this helps!

Really nice review. I’m a subscriber now! 😊 Which option did you buy, considering you are using a Sony which I believe it uses e-mount? I own a Sony fx3 and I’m a bit confused because I don’t now which option should I get, PL or EF. Can you help me? Thank you very much! Big hug from Portugal ❤

Great video. Btw did you shoot this in super35 mode or with active stabilization on(it crops by 1.3)? I am asking as I would have expected more distortion twards the edges.
@galenbeals3538
@galenbeals3538 4 сағат бұрын
Oh man! I was thinking the same thing. All the videos I’ve seen of this set show egregious distortion. To the point where if someone walks across the frame, by the time they reach the side they are super skinny. I know that’s to be expected to some extent with anamorphic but it didn’t look good to my eyes. This is the first video where I’m now actually considering them. How did you manage to make them look so good?

@@dandobi My man, may I ask you one more question? Out of the 4 - 33 (announced recently), 45, 65 and 100; which two focal lengths would you recommend? I am an amateur filmmaker looking to shoot documentaries and short films. I can only get two (on a non-existent budget) and would love the combination to be versatile. I was thinking the 45 and 100. Would love to know your thoughts though.
