How does a dirt cheap $10 3D pen compare to the rest? It doesn't... BUT the $15 pen is a different story! Watch me model the Great Wide Shark with an unbranded 3D pen and MatterHackers PRO PLA.
Here are the cheapest "V2 3D pens" I could find :

eBay : ebay.us/QfhqhY

i got that cheap v1.0 pen for years now :) i had to resolder the heating connections once, but other than that i never had any problems with it. at the time it was still about $20. i guess these pens do work fine, but quality control probably isnt as good. although with the lower prices i would probably go for the 2.0 version when mine breaks one day.

"Always" start teeth on the middle. Also, if you wanted a smooth base or skin, wouldn't you just use a heat gun and some kind of steel blade, nub or knurling tool to flatten the form? I like the finish as is, but since. You mentioned the texture... All in all, this turned out really cool. The original was a bit flatter or "more wide", but yeah, awesome.

OMG! I'm totally getting one now! As an artist that LOVES to throw on the wheel and work with clay this looks incredibly fun! And very versatile! Which one would you recommend me to invest in? on the more expensive side is alright with me, so long as it's a quality instrument!

You can always use sand paper to smooth out a 3d pen creation (also applies to 3d prints to get rid of visible layer lines).

At the end he said you can get the branded version for $90 and the non branded version for $20 but at the beginning he said the branded one was about $60 but now it’s going for around $40 and the non branded one was $15.......... lol

Nice to see that good clones of this expensive pen exists! If the manufacturers of the original wasn't so greedy they could get much more profit from their product! I would pay 25-30$ for the original assuming that I'll have a local support if it will be broken within a warranty time (2-3 years of warranty would be nice as well). The components are really cheap and the reason _why_ Chinese clones can work so well is on the surface: they're made basically with the same electronics :)
