If the crab has a chance of winning, then Mojang has to add offhand usability to Bedrock. Currently all you can hold in your offhand in Bedrock is a shield.

The crab claw is so much more useful but the armadillo might win because people are blinded by dog armor cuteness.

If the penguin is added I want them to be breeder using stone buttons, where one will give a button to another and an egg is layed

Honestly, think I'll vote crab. I'll probably use reach way more often than dog armor, and I like the mob more. I think the armadillo scute use is more in character for the game though.

Vote for the armadillo because I never once heard somebody complain about how far you could place a block in Minecraft. And the crab claws gonna be hard to find so most players won’t even have it.( also, you need to scaffold up to place a block up high, so why would you climb down just to use the claw?)

I really love the Armadillo AND the Crab. Like, I'd love to have armor for my wolves and potentially anything that could come with it that players already have, and also be able to place and break blocks farther away, like cutting tall trees down more easily. It still depends on how things feel when the mob vote comes up and I get to test the features. Whichever is better implemented, and has the most potential without Mojang having to add to it is what I'll choose. I still have a feeling that could be the wolf armor.

6:34 The "armadillo" screams sound very similar, maybe even identical to the fox sounds already in the game. Also, the sounds for when it goes in and out of its shell sound the same as the shulker's sounds. Makes sense that it reuses sounds considering the armadillo was added to the mod barely a few days after it was announced. I'm surprised at how well it works!

I like all these mobs. But when I think about the crab I remember how rare mangrove swamps are for me to find and I remember the jungle is more common and that bamboo can make scaffolding with is use to help you build hard to reach places

I hope next year they’re doing a biome vote. Because from analysis I did, Biomes are confirmed to be added (Example is the swamp, which lost a previous vote), so we won’t lose anything.

I really hope they add the crab. Wolf armor is cool, but not even close to as functional as extra reach. Not to mention, think of the command possibility. up until now, there has never been a way to extend reach in minecraft without mods, but if they add the crab they will have to add reach as a command attribute, allowing you to use commands to put it on any wepaon you want

Honestly I think the armadillo would be the best vote to cast. It adds more character to the savannah and while dog/wolf armor is one use for the scute that it drops there could be further uses down the line. A lot of what was shown off in the data pack was speculation so not entirely going to place my judgement on the showcase either. What is extremely interesting is that the benefits that you get from each mob require time spent with the mob and not to kill said mob. I am wondering what they will put out for this year's theme.

I’m hoping the crab gets added to the game. Although, I am concerned about only having 100 durability, so maybe there should either be infinite durability, increased durability, or be able to enchant it. You should also be able to hold it in your off-hand in Bedrock.

Mojang isn’t lazy: If for example the penguin came they would need baby’s, breeding, sounds, animation, made again for the 5 types of bedrock, need marketing needs, to work with spawn-eggs and commands to kill them, needs to interact with other mobs, needs to spawn at a right rate in certain conditions, needs to die of entity cramming etc, etc There are lots of factors that make development really hard for the Minecraft team the mob vote could be executed better but they are far from lazy!

They should make Wolf armor protect wolves from their master hitting them accidentally. They should also make the crab rave dance when there's a music disc playing.

Definitely voting the armadillo. It's so lovely looking and it's interactions are cool. Also having armor for dogs is fantastic. They are charming but so weak. Maybe Mojang could allow us to dye the armour as well to add nore customisation to our doggos.

Crab is the most useful by far. Extending the range of your reach for placing blocks is a big big deal. Adding armor to a dog is useless, as is helping a boat go marginally faster. If the penguin made the boat go as fast on water as it does on ice, which is insane fast, that'd be interesting, that would be travel that could rival Elytra (not with Trident, but normal). It would totally change the early game if you could travel at great speed. But from what I see here, the crab claw allowing you to extend your reach for block placement is a huge deal, being that nearly the entire game is based on placing blocks.

i was playing mincraft java edition a few hours ago for the 1st time in a long time, last being 1.17.1, and i had spawned into a spruce biome with that weird mud thing but thankfully it wasnt that large and i crossed a plains and forest biome as well. i decided to set camp down by these 2 small pools of water close to each other. what was unique about these bodies of water was one was coming off the edge of the spruce biome while the other was coming off the forest biome. i began building a farm there because i saw a few berries in which i started to place down on the body of water closest to its respective biome while i also made on the opposite side the smaller wheat field growing on the edge of the forest biome. i was cutting down trees to make some space and place slabs respective to the biome as well making it easier to walk up blocks around me without the need to jump. as i was cutting down the spruce trees, i wasnt that fussed with chopping the trees down that i need to, but it did make me realise that in that specific moment where i really couldnt be asked to waste a block to cut it back down or to build up, the crab claw was actually going to be useful in this case. i think now im a bit more accepting of the crab claw if it happens to win because now going into the situation of chopping down the long tree myself was just a slight annoyance and hinderance because the sun wasnt getting to the crops due to the trees. i will however stick with the dog armour tho for the fact i still prefer it and the fact that coming across that biome is rare and i wouldnt go out my way that much in hopes to find one in my minecraft world just so i can get a crab claw from a crab thatd likely break. i mostly stick around the plains, forest, meadow (the one with tons of flowers), spruce and the occassional jungle and mooshroom biome, if it happens to be around, so going out my way to find something ik for sure id have a low chance or not a big enough reason to actually search for the biome that could be so many thousands of blocks away and wasting so many chunks that could easily load new update generations and maybe even change the landscape is something that id personally prefer. ik u can do this via a nether portal highway however when i use a nether portal and despite knowing how far away it is from island to island, ik for a fact that these islands arnt at all big enough or will connect to one of these rare biomes. its hard enough to naturally come across a mooshroom biome as it is and ive had it once on the xbox version where ive had it remotely close to spawn on the more recent updates so thats why i still prefer the armadillo.

Armadillo is probably the best mob this time around. I could absolutely care less about being able to place a block further away, it doesn’t help you that much. Plus we’re not guaranteed more than just placing the block so don’t vote based on what ifs.

Personal opinion....They need to do more with the penguin since most people are looking at mob use... With dolphins, true you get dolphins grace but I'm pretty sure it also helps locate burred treasure. Unless the penguin can travel with you then it will only give your boat speed for a short time. And carrying it in the boat with contradict players early game when they use chest boats because they haven't yet gotten shulkers.... Armadillos are useful because players now have more reason to interact with the wolves because they don't have to worry about them dying too soon, not to mention the addition of armor would open up the possibility of customization and maybe (maybe) enchantment in later updates (then again, enchanted horse armor when)... and lastly the crab, just like the sniffer, gives players something to look for as well as its claw is useful for builders. Personally, and i'm just speaking from observation, they need to do more with the penguin or just add it to the game in general.

what would be nice is if you could use the smithing table or anvil and combine the crab claw with a tool, that tool could break stuff farther away instead of having to hold the claw in your off hand

The armadillo gives something that can't already be achieved in game (i.e. moving closer to place blocks or using ice boat trails), which is why I really think people should vote for the armadillo, since there's no other good way to protect your dogs.

The crab claw and armadillo scute will both most likely be dropped when the mob grows up That being said, you only need 1 claw, but you need multiple scute Anyone who's made a turtle helmet knows that's not worth it

I feel Mojang show add a new slot for gloves, then we can equip crab claw there to be able to use it because the off hand dont make sense because you not using your off hand to place or destroy blocks. just my thought

I wish you could tell people that penguin is better because you know.. the new thing about the librarians in different biomes is crazy. We need to travel a lot.. so I guess the penguin would help us skip the oceans faster for the adventure.

I want the armadillo to lose specifically because of the dog armour feature. Hear me out.. Dog armour is a really great thing, but I have a feeling that with the way it's intended to be implemented through the armadillo, it will be so annoying to farm that people won't bother doing it after a while, and so it becomes one of those unused things. It'd be much better if it could be crafted with leather, but if the armadillo wins, Mojang has to do what they promised, and have it be crafted with armadillo scutes, and then it'd be extremely unlikely that they change that recipe again. If the armadillo doesn't win, however, there's still a chance that wolf armour will be added to the game, just with a different crafting recipe. ..And there's even a chance that armadillos could come back in another mob vote, since people are complaining so much to Mojang about how mobs don't return for another vote.

I hope we get a combat, inventory, and food update. Imagine all sorts of new methods of storage being added including a backpack which is used like a chest piece similar to the elytra and doubles the players inventory space when equip. Or most of the craftable food items giving minor buffs that stack with potion effects like eating a cookie gives 10% bonus speed for 30 seconds or beetroot soup giving +2 damage for three minutes. Also, potions stacking up to 8 in a slot making them much more viable on top of being able to make wither, haste and Levitation potions in survival

Just have to say, in the introduction to the armadillo they said warm biomes, not a savanna. I know the showed a savanna in the animation, but with the crabs they specifically said mangrove swamps. So I'd be surprised if the armadillo is just in the savanna

Crab for the W! Everybody needs extra reach and a mob that weaves at you! I feel like a wolf armor is very niche (hardcore players) and the pinguin boat speed buff needs some work in order to be good. Like what will it do on an ice path? And how far ahead of the boat should it transform water into ice for the mechanic to work properly? Can you use it to make an ice farm in warmer biomes?

Armadillo. Voted yesterday n got all cosmetics u can get from the server. Played at least 1 round of every game, bought at least 1 of everything u could buy from the villagers n pillager, and even ate all the edible stuff close enough together to have all effects at once as my final action before I logged off 😅. I plan on getting all 3 items from watching minecraft live as well. Still, even tho I got so much, i only really liked the cherry cape. The hat's ok but I woulda preferred getting that crown as something for the dressing room.

I really liked the penguin trailer and *really* wanted it in the game. After this video I realized I would be completely fine with any of these mobs, I really do love all of them. These mods are so well done, I hope whichever mob wins has all these mechanics. At this point, I'm still not sure which I want to vote for, but seeing as the penguin has no fighting chance it's definitely going to be Crab or Armadillo from me.

I'm definitely voting for the armadillo. I wasn't sure at first - this year's mobs are closer than previous years, but... definitely armadillo. and it's not because I want wolf armour, either - I've actually to this day never had a pet in minecraft - but the armadillo just feels the most... vanilla. It fits in minecraft the best.

I voted Penguine just for the heck of it. The others will be modded into the game eventually and I'm fine with that. I actually like the wolf armor mods already. The crab is in so many mods already, someone will probably update that mob in those mods to add the functionality. Extra reach should be a potion anyway.

Minecraft should do a a leader board and have us vote on all mobs widdling down to the final vote allowing lost mobs a second chance only banishing the mobs that lose three years in a row as in if a mob gets kicked of first three years in a row. Or just drop the mob vote and vote for biomes updates with an occasional new biome to the mix and have a set new mob to that biome. Or keep the vote and just add a biome to the mobs because I'd rather ad natural stairs and slabs. To make the over world smoother.

I think the wolf armor is really really cool. But if I was to vote for that. I’d need to be able to make my wolf strong enough to help me take on any mobs in a cave. Like make an enchantment system for the wolf armor. Or maybe even some really unique enchantments for it. It would have to make my wolf much stronger to where I can have a reliable companion

Sooner or later, I'll befriend a wolf...but I seldom (if ever) adventure with them. Tossing a penguin in the backseat of a boat would be nice for faster boat speeds but unless you're crossing a massive ocean there isn't much reason for increased boat speed (not to mention, once a player has an elytra...). I see the most use being the crab claw for block placement...but not everyone is big on building. It'll be interesting to see the final results and what the full/final mob has to offer.

Penguins are one of my favorite animals and ive always wanted them in minecraft if I ever was playing mods and they had penguins I would keep one but I do want something special to use as well like the crab claw the wolf armor seems ok but the armadillos are adorable im very torn
