OK, finally after a few weeks of waiting for them to build my disc I have it and got it set up to run! Watch as I do some pretty thorough testing of the disc, setting different settings and discing several different pieces of ground to get a good feel for how this thing will work. If you are interested in buying a Disc, You can contact Curtis from Heartland Deer Management at hlanddeer@outlook.com. Here is the Kapper-Only referral pricing:
**These discs are Made in the USA right here in So. Illinois. They are fully powder coated and baked on paint. This is the pricing for the same configuration that I have in this video, Cutting discs in the front row and smoothing discs in the back row, fully adjustable row angles, painted to your tractor color:
5' disc=$1258
6' disc=$1348
7' disc=$1500 (same exact disc in this video)
8' disc=$1830
Shipping/delivery extra. If you price these out and compare them to others on the market you will see that this is an excellent price for such a nice and brand new product!

Adding weight & mowing growth as short as possible helps. Nice setup.

You might try following up your disc and drag with a landscape rake so you don't have to pull so many rocks and sticks out when you're done. Also, I like your videos without the cover music way better.

Get you a 55 gallon drum fill it with water and mount it in the middle on the back horizontal. Fill it with water when your using pull the plug when you're not. Your front will always cut. Need to get some weight on the back. Other than that to make it better and work more efficiently looks great and dirt looks good brother!

Kap, i think you have the disc setup pretty good...looked great on the last setting...all you might want to do is add little weight on each side of the disc... many cut you a couple pieces of utility pole..or a railroad cross tie for each side...little more weight ...make you some braces to hold the cross ties in place or chain it...we have 2 cross ties cut for our 7 ft disc on each side...

Hey Kapper long time no talk/chat to ya. LOL. You can run the front disk cutter near to touching won't hurt thing. And besides, you have plenty of power with tractor to pull that 7 footer. I was pulling a 6 footer with my 2510 Kioti with ease through clay, sunk the disk down to axles/spindels. If you want to tear up up the ground and go deep, use the most aggressive setting. Kapper I went and bought a CK-30 with cab. Good video as always Kapper.

LOL --- however, for what it's worth and if needed, these are numbers I used during my construction career: (all in lbs. per cu. ft.) water-62.4; dirt (loose)-75 --- (compacted)-100; concrete-150; steel-492. Yesterday I gave incorrect WATER information. I corrected the mistake and the information regarding water has been updated above (I used the wrong unit measurement). Thanks.

That's exactly how I run my discs. 3 an 3 on the holes. I have a Woods 8 footer but mine has the nought discs on front and back. But after seeing yours work it's not much difference. Looks great. Bud

thanks man. Yeah, i'm not too sure there's much difference if you'd have cutter or rounds on the back, but the rounds are supposed to knock clumps out more than the notches.

Great Channel. I enjoy the scenery and the work you do with your equipment. I got a kioti ck3510 loader, awesome machine but no a/c. :( I'm trading the kioti on a bobcat t450 compact track loader, I'll be definitely making videos working with it.

Do you have draft control? If you do use it to put down pressure on the disc.
@kapperoutdoors

Yes, but it does not put any down pressure on. Wish it did... It just regulates how low the arms will drop..

Love your new disc. The old one was pathetic. A disc does it's best job right after plowing. But minus the plowing first, it should do great with cross discing and going over it several times.
@kapperoutdoors
@kapperoutdoors 6 жыл бұрын
to me that's just an extra, unnecessary step. The disc can cut it up, just takes a few passes. I did hit it at an angle a few times, does great. Crummy part is most plots are rectangles, and not very wide, so cross cutting is a bit challenging, without running over any corn :)
@eosjoe565

So bottom line, is this new disc Quick Hitch compatible right out of the box or does it require some modification?
@kapperoutdoors
@kapperoutdoors 6 жыл бұрын
Well... trick question there.. Yes, it fits quick hitch right away, but you have to get the right bushings. The adaptor bushings don't come with it.

Looks like that disc cuts pretty good for its size...I noticed it doesn't have a scraper on each disc blade, if you work that thing in soil with a higher moisture content might want those scrapers...does this company make scrapers you can install?
@kapperoutdoors

No idea if they do. I'm thinking that if it was that wet though I probably wouldn't be disking. I try not to bring tractor in wet ground unless I have to.

You keep saying sod but I don't see any plastic mesh that you usually see with sod. Sod out in the west is grass that is grown on a commercial lot and a plastic mesh is laid down during the growing part to help keep it together when it is cut and rolled to be sold for installation somewhere. When you say sod do you just mean field grass instead of bare soil?
@kapperoutdoors
@kapperoutdoors 6 жыл бұрын
yes, perhaps its a slang term, but just means there is grass/weed pad with established roots. And even dead sod is much tougher to disc up than just dirt.

We had a set of sealed bearing disc. One year later the bearings went out. Now I have an old set of 8 foot disc that's greasable. Do have the disc set all the way down?
@kapperoutdoors

Well hopefully the sealed bearings don't get destroyed! I kind of wondered about that. I don't recall now this video was awhile ago how I had the disc set

@@kapperoutdoors sealed bearings 4 disc is that okay until they tear up. I went back to a old set of greasable disc just for that reason it's a lot cheaper to buy them and to work on them. I have a really old set of 8 Footers that I have used for years after I went through and rebuilt them best thing I spent money on yet

Kapper it looks to me like your rear disks are way too high they look like they are barely touching..measure the disks see if the fronts ( scalloped) are bigger diameter..it looks like you almost need an adjustable link where the top black bar is.( Black bar on the top of disc you had to install) in order to bring the back discs lower..simular to a adjustable link on a bushhog..
