I really appreciate you guys putting out realistic accuracy data. I wish that was the norm. Seems like almost every video or post I see the person is claiming that their gun is "sub MOA" or "about MOA", which just isn't realistic. Having a true "sub MOA" rifle isn't nearly as common as people think. And that's ok, because a 2 MOA gun is actually extremely capable and will easily produce good results out to 500-800 if the shooter does their part.

I can't get the "The 1 MOA Hoax" video by Backfire's channel out of my head where he offers $50 to any shooter at the range who can shoot a 5 shot 1 MOA group. I believe most were hunters shooting bolt action. No one could do it. I want to see that experiment played out more across the fighting rifle space.

Many people don't know as much either. Many believe the three shot group is the way to go, especially if someone they believe or trusts tells them as much. I really like how Henry explains it on 9 hole reviews, 9, 9 shot groups. It's rare to see a true sub moa rifle, especially once the barrel heats up

The “shoot in” you were experiencing is actually very common among long range guns. They need to have some copper fouling to become consistent and then when there is too much build up accuracy falls off. Strip the barrel of the copper and then need shot in again. We had our sniper guns go through this cycle every work up.
@rjsennett9
@rjsennett9 7 ай бұрын
Is this the same with hunting rifles? Had a military sniper help me get my first rifle. Had me buy a copper stripping solution to clean the barrel every time I shot it. Noticed as I got older none of my friends do this. Using it every time would prevent fouling though. Sounds like the opposite of what you’re saying. Hunting rifles aren’t designed to reach out 1000 yards though.
@robwalters9695
@robwalters9695 6 ай бұрын
@@rjsennett9 It really depends on the rifle. Some rifles are really sensitive to copper fouling and others aren't. I would recommend NOT stripping the bore every time you shoot it though as copper fouling solvent is a solvent and can damage the barrel. I would say shoot it and see what she does, if rounds get supper tight and then all of a sudden fall off after XX rounds inspect for copper fouling and use a solvent to strip it, then shoot it in again and see what it does. Every gun reacts differently so there isn't really a one size fits all solution to this. That being said what Lucas was seeing of after 70-100 rounds the groups coming in really tight is normal in long range guns and I am willing to bet when they strip the bore with a copper fouling solution and shoot it after they will experience the same thing.
@bogeydope3022
@bogeydope3022 6 ай бұрын
Ammonia free copper solvents are no problem for any barrel, weither coated or not. Fouling makes the barrel tighter, it evens out very small inaccuracies in the barrel/ rifling, though this buildup has a unique sweet spot (thickness before sheared off) in which it acts as desired. However, it is highly dependable on the ammo used and the rifling. Certain plastic coated bullets won't work at all, certain copper alloys don't, and for sure the speed of the bullet and rifling geometry make a huge difference. Some barrels in combination with the caliber etc. are better to be shot clean, others not. As you said, it is trial and error. @@robwalters9695

I listened to an interview with the head of PSA and all I can say is that I'll be spending more money on their site whether it's their stuff or other. That veteran just wants everyone to be free and have gun stuff. That's why everything is cheap on their site all the time. They don't mark stuff up like every other brand. I too have had issues with quality control on some of their stuff, but they absolutely resolve the issue every time.

Awesome video Lucas. I bought one of these and so far the only issue is the steel mags not locking back on the last round, P mags is the way to go. Just a basic sight in and some initial groups with Ball ammo and S&B 168gr match at 100 yards . Ball ammo shot 3-4 MOA and the S&B 1.25 -1.5 MOA with 5 round groups. Still under 100 rounds down the barrel. Next outing I'll take it out to distance, 4-600 yards.

PSA doesn't deserve its reputation with certain folks in the gun community. My main comp rifle has a PSA lower and the looks I get from the DD, KAC etc owners is hilarious when I run circles around them on the range. I have never understood the level of gatekeeping in the gun community, especially in the comp scene, it only serves to make it easier to make us all the 'bad guys' and keep eroding the 2A.

Locking back is also directly related to how well you're pulling it into your shoulder.. If you're just loosely holding it and letting the gun flop around and kick you hard.. Sometimes the bolt doesn't have enough energy to go all the way back-- since all the energy went into moving the gun around (similar to limp wristing a pistol). I could see that sometimes you hold it very tightly and it moves your whole body, but other times you're letting it loose and the rifle moves a lot more and kicks you a lot more. Be more consistent in how hard you are pulling it into your chest; it makes a difference. Do it the same way every time.... I noticed when you were leaning your body weight against it at the barricade; you had very consistent recoil reaction and it looked very stable: and not flopping the rifle around.

I love guns. I support the 2A. Here’s the problem. Gun owners are too infatuated with gears and name brands. Get your gun. Train extensively and don’t treat your guns like safe queens. Most importantly, get fit. Too many gun owners are out of shape. What are you gonna do when you have all these fancy gears yet you can’t run up a flight of stairs during SHTF? Know your priorities. We are out of time. The tree of liberty is dying and it desperately needs to be watered.
