I've always been told that a superzoom is too much of a compromise to use for any serious photography. But when I had the chance to test the Tamron 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD for Fujifilm X-mount, I took it on a short family camping trip to see for myself how it performs.

Good to see you back. Close focusing on the lens is ridiculous. It’s also capable on my IR converted X-T2

In my Tamron 18-300 zoom works hard. Follow focus doesn't want to run smoothly. Jumps on gears. Is it just my lens acting this way? Regards.

Hard to say. I had good results but that was in decent light and clear subjects. Might be different in different situations.

@@bertstephani I bought FujiFilm 16-120 4.0. Revelation. Tamron sold.
