Testing The Toro Power Clear 821 RC Commercial Snowblower
In this video, I finally got to test my brand new Toro Power Clear 821 RC Commercial Snowblower. We didn't get a lot of snow, but a decent amount to fire it up and use it for the first time. These models are apparently new to this year. Let me know if you would like to see more videos in the future on this new Toro Power Clear 821 RC Commercial Snowblower. What do you think of this new toro snowblower? Is this new toro snowblower worth it?

I saved a ccr3650 toro with a tecumseh from going to the salvage yard. It is a two stroke and I actually think it’s got more then the one you showed. Engine was prestine and had no rust even. I’m really impressed with it, toro claims it will do 12” of snow 20 inches wide, it does for sure. Even after all this time as it’s about 30 years old

Nice video ,however cant wait to try mine out on some real snow here in buffalo Ny ! Have used mine in 4-5 in with heavy wet and works fine .Throws snow plenty of distance. Hope to make video soon showing the machine being used on 6 plus in. I have the next model up with the electric start and shoot control . No need for electric start ,but cant live without Shoot control ! Toro did a great job on the shoot control ! Works flawlessly and very nice operation. 👍👍👍👍👍 Ratings Awsome machine !!!!

I was wondering how your scraper bar held up after one season?? I've read that the recent redesign of the scraper bar was a mistake and that they shred very quickly. Also, the cheap little plastic wheels are a little lacking aren't they? And have you noticed your wing nuts on the handles falling off? These are the three negatives that I've been reading about.

Love this, except for one thing. During recent 24 in snow , blizzard conditions in Midwest, Jan 2024, the blue handled remote chute controller froze up. I understand others have experienced. Any one have any ideas on how to cure and or prevent. I would have preferred to have your manual controller instead.

I don't own one, but I know you can't really go wrong with Toro. I have an older Toro, the CCR3650, and man, I tell you, it's a beast and my go-to snowthrower. Yes, on a slopy hill, you can go up and down. Just be very careful when going down. I would recommend wearing tracks on your shoes. If you try side to side, the snowblower likes to skid down.

@@sin331 I have to say that in less than 6 inches, there isn't much difference in throwing ability. Above 6 inches, yeah, the bigger engine doesn't bog down as much and it does throw farther. In my case, it's worth it because I'm going up and down a driveway that's about 6 cars long. That thing holds a bunch more fuel than the 721 too.

Think I might be qualified to give an opinion. My dad just traded the twin to my 721 for an 821. You can definitely tell it's a more powerful machine. It takes almost a gallon of fuel and just ran 1 hour and 15 min doing a 5" wet, heavy snow. We haven't refilled it yet. I think that's good mileage for the workout it got. The question is does the more powerful machine justify money? If ya have a long drive or have to get the snow over a wall or something, I would say yes.

Hey I notice ice can build up inside the auger belt area. Happens on 721 and moreso on the 521. I've had multiple times of taking the cover off from both and having to chisel solid ice out from there. This ice locking can cause the keyway between pulley and auger to semi-shear, causing loss of throwing power but it'll still spin under no load. This keyway shearing can also be caused by pushing it too hard through large chunks etc from plow wakes. I used JB weld to seal the auger shaft back solid with the pulley keyway. Other factor is the belt tension. Important to notch it up tighter when it wears in. If you can smell the belt is hot or it feels too tight on the bail, then back it off a notch and try again. Been using a 721R for 5 years. Synthetic oil changes and have had no problems with engine itself.
