Testing Uncle Klunk

My friend Bobby (rockafirelover on Instagram, he has a Country Cal from Tex Critter's, go follow him!) and I tested Uncle Klunk's movements. Quite a few valves are not responding. I will eventually rebuild them! Lots of air leaks and the hoses kept exploding off the t-fitting because they're so old and warped. I'll get around to fixing him eventually but I have other things to do first. I also have a brand new mask for him that I will paint eventually.
Also his ear levers and ears are not installed and his foot is not hosed up.

This is really super cool! I'm extremely jealous of your collection of animatronics and old relics, it's like you collect my dreams :-O I REALLY wanna get experience with robotics stuff (vintage mascot animatronics in particular) and build up a collection of my own someday. This is super hard for me to do though cuz I live in Australia where nobody cares about cool old things :'( The only animatronic history in Australia that I know of is a CEC (Charlie Cheese's Pizza Playhouse(the aus version)) in Grundy's Entertainment Centre at surfers paradise gold coast, and another at Carindale shopping centre. God knows where those guys ended up. I just hope all the animatronics aren't gone by the time I'm an adult and get to come to America. It'd be so cool to have a collection and maybe even work at CEI, that'd be awesome (and meet other collectors like you)! Also really sad that CEC is dumping their band! I'll never get to see them in restaurant :'''(

dreamworld did at some point have a show called “koala country” that featured animatronics in a show pretty similar to country bear jamboree. there’s also a fun bunyip animatronic in SA’s murray bridge, which rises from the water and growls. other than that, animatronics are super hard to come across down here! from what i know, that bunyip is the only active one in the country :’-/

He’s alive! Wow he’s so awesome! I can tell this was super exciting for you. I’d love to own some type of RAE animatronic someday, preferably Rolfe because he was the first animatronic character I had ever heard of and loved dearly. I bet Klunk is super happy about his “resurrection” too. 😂 I can’t wait to see more of him.

When you control Uncle Klunk, how do you do it? I’m about to make an animatronic (my first one) and I’m just wondering how do you control the air valve that hooks up to the air cylinders?

There's the valve bank.

There are buttons for each individual valve on the bank, this allows manual control of each movement as each valve is a single movement.

Well Uncle Klunk was a limited run character that was installed into where Rolfe and Earl are on the Rock AFire stage. What’s neat about Klunk is he actually has the ability to pick up items with his left hand!

The air leaks are in the quick disconnects that attach the hoses to the valve bank. I think one of the o rings shifted out of place. The little explosions of air were from the old rotted hoses popping off the T fitting
