Meet the boys: Trent McCrerey and Knox Hammack. Trent and Knox are pro kayakers that won TGR's community entry for the Tough Fun Film Series, and spent the better part of May and June on a road trip of epic proportions, chasing water levels throughout the American West. Follow their adventure in TGR's final short film from the Tough Fun trilogy, and watch them run some of the gnarliest whitewater in this part of the world.

As a kayaker for some 50 years in the UK. I have paddled most of the white water available in this country and some in Austria. Those guys paddled the theme park of kayaking. It is a very dangerous sport.. I lost a good mate and paddling buddy to a hidden tree in a fall. I've been pinned, my kayak has folded, I've dislocated my shoulder, broken ice off my kayak... Its a drug.. The sound and smell and the adrenaline are incredible.. That was a fantastic film. Top men in awesome rivers. Thank you... Stay safe x

Ditto... Although I had some fun WW kayak adventures in my 20s/30s... Partially explains why my back/neck/shoulder are now blown out...(snowboarding, mtn biking, and hobiecat racing also took it's toll) lol. Have fun kids - just be aware you'll probably eventually 'pay for it' in your 40s. :-)

Incredibly well done kayak movie, well done. I love how it is done in a way that actually makes it somewhat understandable to non-kayakers. I'm a kayaker myself so at times it was a little oversimplified but totally worth it. Hopefully this reaches some of the non-kayaker audience and they learn something about the amazing sport and become interested in it. Also perfect pace, slow enough to give each major rapid the respect it deserves and understand how incredibly difficult what these guys are doing is, but changing it up enough to keep it interesting and not repetitive. Hope to see some more kayak movies from Teton Gravity, keep it up!

Good to see Teton Gravity research back in the kayak film game . Worked on the first Trillagy in 2001-2004 . Cool seeing Trey Chase name in the credits too and now working for TGR . That hets long line rescue was impressive and having to overnight with a shoulder still out would be a horrible experience. I’ve managed to get my own shoulder back in every time except the first one while kayaking .

Always great to see the next generation of kayakers plying the waters. I was too big to do much with it, but did get a few trips down the Little White Salmon in the early days, along with some other first descents in the PNW. To run big drops, it's best to be either very thin, very short or both. It seems to me we are at or near the boundaries of waterfall height, but maybe someone finds and runs a 200' drop. We shall see. These would probably be the guys to do it.

That was an incredibly done documentary, and absolutely National Geographic level professional, but both runs down Big Timber Falls were simply art on the part of the kayakers in and of themselves. No, not excellent, not masterful; but rising to the level of fine art such as you would expect from Picasso or Rembrandt. As for the documentary itself, anyone would be hard pressed to find any fault with it. Production values were spot on, lighting and camera angles were about as good as it gets anywhere, and the balance of sound and background music were perfect. The music matched the general feel of each segment perfectly and was well placed to elicit emotions in the viewer, yet didn't overpower the ambient sounds of the river. To get all of that right with a crew which was so limited in number is something you don't see every day. I do not think I'm exagerating when I say that this would have done well at Sundance and Cains. I'm pretty sure it would have been in contention for one of the top spots at either one of those film festivals for an award for best documentary of the year. We should all be grateful, for this is as good as it gets, and it was focused on our sport!

Be great to state the river names in the descriptions. There is one single mention in dialogue that the North Fork of the American River is what they're running in CA. It's great when everyone in the community knows this stuff, but when making production level films, kinda basic to put this basic info out there plainly.
