I'm old. I'm white. I wasn't in band. But I absolutely love this!!! Hooked on HBC marching bands. I am planning a road trip to see some of this in person. Amazing commitment from these young people.

This band is unique... with some bands you go to see the dance line... I was literally watching everybody.... and the band members truly reflect the student body

This is music that gets into your bones, gets you out of your chair & makes you MOVE! Always wonder why so few people in the stands. Is this a practice? May be because the entire student body is in the band?! That’s a bunch o’ fine musicians. I’d come primarily for the band’s entrance & stay for the game to hear them play!

i like our drum majors they got their own flava...i marched back in 2002 era...i know my old heads get mad but i tell them all the time they keep up tradition but let them youngsters do they thang its their band now our time has passed...great job drum majors

Awesome band. The 3 drum majors are dudes with a capital D. Girls are attractive to say the least and their dance moves are awesome. TSU and Houston should be proud of this group.

Nice I'm doing my research on all hbcu bands .......I just love love love hbcu....I went to Langston University in Oklahoma.....and Hampton University in Virginia.....I still got a couple years left to finish and thinking about going to one more hbcu ...and it's looking like the south is where I will be going 🤷‍♂️

Today is my lazy day (like everyday), but I've been watching this DM team. They are better marching than they are on the field. I wish they could be more creative and have more DM entrances than they have been allowed all year. But I'd say if I could request to change anything, it would be how much and how often the HBD looks back.

At first I was a bit skeptical about the band but once they walked in they they proved that they were the real deal. They band seems much improved for some reason. Majorette was fine 🤣 lawd lawd.

@0:48 the HDM walks like he know he the shit, and like he know he sexy or cocky, or whatever. One of the other DMs walks in between, and the other, well... he just don't even know what the mood sposed to be. The HDM gotta get in there and set the mood to everybody (This the vibe we all gotta have when we do this, and this the vibe we all gotta have when we do that.... etc.) They would look so much better as a unit if they all walked or emoted in confidence like the HDM... Beyond just dancing and marching, you gotta really flaunt as a unit that y'all are the peak. It's the only way to be Iconic.

I love TXSU I just wish they had more spacing between them. The drum majors are to close the twirler, and the twirler is to close to the motions. It looks so crammed up. I need them to space out more

Am I the only one who think the Drum Majors marching style is a bit feminine. Out all that I have seen, from big bands to small ones. Their style sucks. I know they can do Better. Thats probably why the old heads don't like what they are doing.

Looking at his from outside the USA I must confess I'm mystified. What is the purpose of all this? Is it a substitute for academic performance? Is it a way of keeping a whole bunch of black people occupied and off the streets? Is it a way to teach people some kind of teamwork? Is it a form of the militarism so prevalent in American culture? To me it looks like a lot of posturing without substance. I'd appreciate some serious comments about the value of this type of activity.
