On April 13, 2024, the Texas State Railroad put on an impressive show of steam with former Tremont & Gulf Railway 2-8-2 Mikado No. 30, pulling the Piney Woods Express Steam Excursion from Palestine to Rusk, and back. However, this wasn't any ordinary event, as this was the 50th Anniversary of No. 30 being owned by TSR! For this occasion, they reverted the 1917 Baldwin built locomotive back into her Texas Parks & Wildlife paint job and renumbered her back into 400.
For the time since 2002, railfans and the general public alike enjoyed the look of the pretty masquerade that TSR has done and boy did they pulled it off flawlessly on Ol' No. 30!
